Brian Eno truly was on another level entirely in his prime, with Another Green World being a prime example of why. One of this record's many qualities is its impressively diverse track listing, with every single song altering my mood, or what I'm thinking about while listening. It's a lovely little LP that is guaranteed to make anyone listening feel something.
Billy Cobb's annual Halloween release shows that Cobb is yet to lose his Halloween spirit, nor his knack for descriptive songwriting and fun instrumentation.
Glassworks inspires a certain sense of wonder in me that's hard to describe. The opener, one of the most emotionally stirring piano pieces I've likely ever heard, was a really beautiful and meditative introduction into this record's sound and world. If the entire record sounded like this, or at the very least had a more distinct sound and concept, I probably would've rated it significantly higher. However, even in spite of this, Glassworks features some pretty amazing and beautiful ... read more
Incredibly pretty and dreamy. As usual, Ichiko's voice was one I found myself very often lost in. Although, I didn't like the extra touches of experimentation or especially the piano that remains pretty prominent through the entire record. It just takes away a lot of the beauty and coziness for me.
This is an outstandingly performed, beautiful to listen to record. I was incredibly immersed by how wonderfully these tracks were able to come to life in the live setting, and the whole thing is really pretty overall. With that being said, for the life of me, I could not get past the recording quality of this thing during the first half. That's not to say that it's terrible, but it really was unfortunate how many of these tracks were ruined or at the very least a lot harder to make out as a ... read more
I AM A WRECK. I CRIED SO MUCH. THANK YOU ICHIKO FOR THIS NICE LITTLE EVENING <3
if this album was a person i would definitely sleep with it and i wouldn't feel the tiniest bit of shame in it either
Year of the Cat is a lovely little record that is beautiful in its simplicity. The songwriting is wonderful, and the relaxing vibe of the whole record meant that every song made me smile at least once while listening.
Wow, what a massive disappointment, this year has been chock full of 'em! Yup, this is not good. It's so boring. This is everything I was worried it might be. Taylor Swift has once again retreated back into the safe soundscapes of mainstream pop, and the result is something that feels almost insulting. It feels insulting that she would make something so formulaic and commercial after showing she's capable of so much more. I'm thoroughly disappointed. Anyways 10/10 100 it's flawless.
every time a track would end abruptly and go onto the next song i laughed way harder than i probably should've
Love & Melancholy presents a 50/50 split between cutesy, harmless pop punk, and very stale, uninteresting art pop. While I wouldn't mind hearing an entire record in this pop punk style, in terms of the more art pop centric tracks here, I don't think LIA LIA offers anything new or exciting in this field, with said tracks rather feeling like rehashes of what's been made hundreds of times already by hundreds of other artists.

F♯ A♯ ∞ is one of Godspeed's many masterpieces. Spread across over an hour of music and three movements, this is a truly devastating listen. Among many other things, F♯ A♯ ∞ is a chilling, depressing and unfiltered reminder of one of life's most uncomfortable realities; we are finite.
i feel like yuuko from nichijou would definitely bump this at least 5 times a day
More straightforward, danceable breakbeats are what permeates the majority of IRLY. Given the shorter runtime of this particular release, it makes sense. Even in spite of this record's much less conceptual and ambitious sound, however, I still found myself really enjoying what I heard, and this still feels like a project that's wholly their own. Basically, if you can make a track titled "Dysphoria" danceable and fun, while also having a strong, emotional core to it, then that's ... read more
Deep emotional anguish expressed through drum and bass/breakcore... sounds right up my alley! On a serious note though, I really did enjoy this. It took a while to click with me, but once I got it, I got it. Something that I, even as someone who's very new to drum and bass, could tell about Sewerslvt's music is that it seems to be a lot more driven on emotion and mood than it does technical excellence or a "perfect" sound. The atmosphere of Draining Love Story is almost one of a ... read more
Sleeping Lessons is one of my favorite songs of all time. I've felt this way for a while now. Everything about its minimal instrumentation, beautiful ambient backdrop, and eventual climax is so satisfying, so wonderful, and just so beautiful. It's a song that means more to me than words could ever truly describe, and for that, I had to write about it on here. As for the rest of the album? Ehhh, it's a bit of a mixed bag unfortunately. That's not to say that anything here was in any way bad, I ... read more
what is it with artists in the 60s writing really happy, upbeat songs where someone dies by the end
Even if all we got to hear of Windswept Adan's "roots" were these three demo tracks, that's perfectly fine with me, as what's presented here is a very interesting look into what these tracks sounded like in what I'm assuming was their beginning stages. Do I prefer the gussied up studio versions more? Yeah, definitely, but that doesn't really take away from this project and it should NOT deter anyone from still checking it out and giving it a listen.
i was messing with it but then lady eboshi came in and started spittin fire and i was like "daaaamn" and then miyazaki walked in and he started fucking shooting everyone and i was like "whaaaaaaaat?" and then i was all like "huhh??" as ashitaka came in started acting silly on the beat. the music is pretty good too

Very warm and cozy atmosphere with some pretty depressing lyrical content, just what I needed! On a serious note though, this is a very well constructed and put together emo album, although the only place that this record falls short for me (aside from the singing) is the lack of variety in a lot of these tracks with the whole cozy atmosphere thing kind of starting to wear off little by little as the album goes along. Will probably grow with a few more listens.
