holy frick guys so get this he was falling in the first one and now this time he is going up that is INSANEEEEEEEEE
Dadawah's Peace and Love features hypnotic instrumentals, with Dadawah's voice matching said instrumentals almost too well. Many of the lyrical topics here include themes of peace across the world, love of one another, and freedom from all hate and prejudice, and while it may be far away from perfection for me, its historical importance makes it an absolutely essential listen.
This record is INSANE! And while I can appreciate the general celebration of insanity and the more psychedelic nature of this album, I feel like it's also this album's biggest issue at points. While there are certainly some great songs featured here, the record itself is so all over the place and incredibly inconsistent that I really don't feel like this is worth giving anything higher than a 78 despite loving the majority of the tracks here. Perhaps a few more listens will help me gain some ... read more
One of the most impressively built rock albums I've heard in quite some time, and also one of the most satisfying. Apart from the singing here which is really nothing to write home about, I had very little issues with this record overall and I can absolutely see why this album has garnered so much praise over the years. As far as experiences in music go, there are few as engaging and special as Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating in Space. Every song here feels so intricate and the layering ... read more

how did a project like this make it past bandcamp?????
Yeah, Frailty was um... it was a pretty miserable experience. For the most part, anyway. This record just sounds ugly and it does not appeal to me in the slightest. I hate the vocals here and thought they just came across as really amateurish and the excessive auto tune just made it unbearable, the production here is pretty awful and ruins the majority of this project, a lot of songs feature tracks that sound like how ... read more
Been listening to this a lot recently because... well, I'm in love. I fell in love for the first time. This song makes me cry, but in the very best way, because much like the movie it originates from, it can bring out the most intense and overwhelming emotions out of me, whether they be happy or sad. Regardless, it never fails to put me at peace, and I've never had a piece of art feel like it was speaking directly to me before. God, music is just too powerful sometimes...

Phil Elverum managed to make an album so raw and uncomfortable in its emotional intimacy that simply writing about it in no way feels like it does it justice. It’s… devastating, there’s no other word that can be used to describe it, this is a truly heartbreaking and difficult listen and Phil’s delivery is filled with so much pain. The lyrics here almost read as internal monologues a lot of the time, but there’s something almost poetic about the songwriting here at ... read more
ok i still hate this band but even with that being said i think the second half of this is actually pretty good
17... it's fine.
It's clear from listening to this, knowing the background that this guy came from, and really just spending much time looking into him and what he was like that X was a pretty messed up individual, and one that carried a lot of demons with him during his incredibly short life. While there are points where this record manages to hook me on a lyrical level, ultimately there's not too much about 17 that stands out. Even the most popular song here, Jocelyn Flores, is really quite ... read more
There are certainly some great elements at play here, but I feel like Islands is really missing that essential piece to make this a truly extraordinary record. Islands had a lot going for it, this album showed King Crimson pushing their sound more into the realm of jazz and even classical composition at points, the songwriting here is amazing, and the vocals are really good too. The biggest issue here was its execution, while in theory this record should've succeeded in its musical ambitions ... read more
While not bad, Dangerous very much resembles its cover, it's a massive collage of a ton of ideas and sounds. Some of these sounds pan out well, others don't, but regardless it's not enough to create a cohesive and full portrait. Even with this I wouldn't deter Michael fans from checking this one out, some of his best material shows up on here, plus for an album that clocks in at over an hour there's not really a dull moment here and I was never all that bored. It's just a mixed bag, during its ... read more
A lot of amazing songs on here, some of which are some of Peggy's best, but WOOOOW what a messy structure! Like, in ways it actually kinda ruins the album with how bad certain songs flow into one another. Still, like every project from Peggy, this thing has incredible replay value, and a lot of the songs here have grown on me a ton. Very high highs, very low lows, that's about it.

Probably my favorite Björk album cover, but also probably one of her least interesting and engaging albums. I like Medúlla in concept, however I really could care less about it in practice. This is definitely not one of Björk's best albums in terms of her singing, and quite frankly the a capella parts just made me wish I was listening to actual electronic instruments. This just really isn't my thing at all, I've given this album a ... read more
I really love the intensity of this album, I just felt like it got to be a bit much at points and it got to be a rather exhausting listen after a while. Still great, but just a bit much. Also a lot of the fainter moments here, while still really good, just kinda felt out of place and sort of like an unnecessary cooldown when there didn't really need to be one and I was kinda bored during some of those parts.
Do you remember how you viewed the world at a very young age? How big and exciting everything was at the time because you were so unfamiliar with the world around you? It's a feeling I long to experience quite often, however the ultimate truth of it is that I can't, I can't go back to those days no matter how badly I may want to. 'Windswept Adan' is overwhelmingly pretty, I don't know if there's a word beyond beautiful, but if there is, this album is it. Ichiko's voice is breathtaking, and the ... read more
The popular songs are obviously incredible, although there are a lot of great deep cuts to be found here too. Nothing particularly outstanding in comparison, but still some great stuff. This whole "I'm a bad boy oooh I'm gonna beat up a whole group of guys UwU" persona never fully sold me partially because I feel like at points he didn't entirely stick to it and kinda just went back to being Michael Jackson at points, but y'know what there's some great tunes on here, some of it is ... read more
This album, to describe what it means to me in the most blunt way possible... I'm pretty sure it saved my life. I wake up some days and question whether I would still be here if I hadn't heard Nurture where and when I did. To keep private details mostly private for everyone involved including myself, December 2020 to around August of 2021 was probably the roughest and most emotionally intense period of my entire life, and I wouldn't wish that kind of stress upon my worst enemy. After several ... read more
