Another charming folk record early in 2017. Burch evokes Angel Olsen and that 50's sound and creates a beautiful debut
Was really excited to listen to this album given the early hype I was seeing it get. I think I like this album a lot, but I'm not fully sure yet. The songs are beautiful and interesting but it doesn't seem to be a cohesive album musically at all.
EDIT: Yeah I can't stop listening to this album. Falling in love with it
A stunningly beautiful folk album. Great improvement from her first record.
sad to say I'm a little disappointed in this one. Love the other two but this one seems to be a little less edgy to me, unfortunately.
I was thinking that this album wasn't so bad and then the second half of it happened. I will never understand the J. Cole thing, but there are a few moments here that aren't bad
I knew I wasn't gonna love this album like everyone else. Too much James Blake and new Kanye for me. The autotune is obnoxious, but other parts are beautiful. A decent album for me, but not anything more
To me this sounds like what would've happened if foals tried to make a pop record. The melodies are uninteresting and generic, and the vocals don't add too much. While there are some high points (fountain of youth and coins, specifically) this album is a major disappointment from a band whose debut showed so much promise
I mean, Angel Olsen's pretty good. She's become one of the leading voices in indie music today. Still prefer the first two albums which showcase her voice a bit more, but beautiful production and arrangements
