Surfer Blood - Snowdonia
60

really boring. by far their worst effort to date

Joey Bada$$ - ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$
80

enjoyed this one far more than I expected to

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
94

Revising this one up in honor of the new album which I like a lot less than this masterpiece

Fionn Regan - The Meetings of the Waters
63

thoroughly disappointing

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
67

I think what made TPAB so compelling was this crazy combination of non-hip hop musical influences. What made GKMC so compelling was the storyline that ran through it. Both of these albums also had incredibly thematic connections and lyricism. While the themes and lyrics on this record are great, as Kendrick is a great poet, it lacks either of the elements that made his last two records so incredible. Musically it lacks the cohesion and consistency we've come to expect from him. While I really ... read more

Sea Power - Let The Dancers Inherit The Party
68

pretty solid effort from a band I kind of forgot about. Fun, punchy, best since "Do You Like Rock Music"

Arca - Arca
59

what did I just listen to

Zara Larsson - So Good
78

Yeah this album is really fun. Tails off a tiny bit towards the end, but really fun electropop

Spoon - Hot Thoughts
71

I don't think Spoon has ever really made a bad record. The trend continues here

Real Estate - In Mind
65

Ugh after 3 great albums Real Estate lets down with a bit of a more boring sound than they normally put out. It's time for Real Estate to push the envelope a little more

Valerie June - The Order of Time
64

I found her voice annoying.

Jesca Hoop - Hunting My Dress
86

A complex and beautiful album.

Tennis - Yours Conditionally
78

A charming return to form after what I thought was a disappointing previous record. Tennis finds a good balance here between the 70s/80s vibe and modern indie pop

Laura Marling - Semper Femina
85

Probably her boldest and most unique album to date. Create guitar playing and beautiful backing instruments. Soothing might be her best song ever

Sun Kil Moon - Common As Light and Love Are Red Valleys of Blood
65

Even if you agree with some of the politics on this album, his way of writing about it is cringeworthy

Jesca Hoop - The House That Jack Built
76

Slowly making my way through her discography after the new album. Really enjoyed the arrangements in the first half of this record, but the second half fizzled out a bit

Peter Silberman - Impermanence
68

This album feels like the weakest of the antlers last few albums. A little too sparse to capture the passion that made some of their albums so compelling

Vagabon - Infinite Worlds
83

Hard to listen to this album and her voice and not immediately think of Hop Along. For me that's a good thing. Really really promising indie rock debut

Stormzy - Gang Signs & Prayer
76

Very promising debut
