I love the creativity on here. I've known Teezo for a while now but I was never too much into his music. This project might change that. To be fair, I will agree with what most people claim: this album isn't cut for everybody, and the last song is out of place. But man I've had the WEEEE from Mood Swings stuck in my head for 10 days now, in a good way (somehow).
I love Posty as a person and as an artist. I've listened to his music for years now and I'm glad he took a different direction with this record. That being said, this is the kind of album that I feel like is reviewable track by track, because they're isn't really a link in between the songs. So here's me sharing my dumb thoughts and ratings on every track after 6-7 front-to-back listens:
1. Didn't sound like a strong start to the album. Sounds too depressing imo, but still a decent moody ... read more
This has to be the top rap album of the first half of 2023. Who would've guessed!
McKinley Dixon, a name I had never heard and that I somehow still cannot remember everytime I talk about him. I listened to this back when it first came out and thought it was really good, but was too busy to relisten. When Fantano reviewed it a few weeks ago, I decided that I needed to give it another go, and oh boy am I glad I did.
There's some serious heat on this record. The second song Sun, I Rise is a ... read more
Don't think I was around when they first started releasing music, but I did enjoy this short LP. It's nothing that really blows me away, but there a some good tracks on here. Until I Know is one of the songs I've played the most in the past month. It's such a banger.
As a big A7X fan, I hate the fact that I don't like this. I'm going to see them in a month and I hope they don't play much of this record, honestly. This is their worst record in 20 years easily.
When they first released Nobody a few weeks/months ago, I texted my friend saying ''What's going on with M. Shadows voice?''. It felt off, but I couldn't tell why, and while my friend didn't notice, it kept bothering me. Now that I've heard the entire thing, I can confidently say that it isn't only ... read more
My first listen of this was a pretty bad one. I expected TikTok kinda stuff and to not appreciate this at all. To my surprise, I started to really pay attention to the actual music playing in my ears towards the end rather than the one playing in my head, what I expected. My next 4-5 were much more attentive, and I did appreciate what I heard.
What I will say is that the singing is still to this day what I'm not a fan of on certain parts of this record. Kesha's voice was better in my mind, and ... read more
I do believe that this will need a pool-side listen to really see if this fits the vibe a bit better, but as of right now, it really doesn't live up to my personal hype. I wanted more songs in the 4EVA genre, but this is not exactly what we are given here.
It's definitely not all bad. There's some really enjoyable songs on here. Apart from 4EVA, I think Master P, Rebuke and K&A are very high points. The first half of the record is solid and there's a lot of replay value to it. On the ... read more
Okay Jack. Okay. I can defend this.
I've gotta say, after Come Home the Kids Miss You, I was very skeptical at Jack's ability to produce an entire album worth listening from front to back. After Jackman, I'm a little more confident that he has what it takes. Yes it's only 24 minutes long, but it proves that he's able to do 10 songs that aren't too corny, or just boring.
They Don't Love It was a personnal favorite or mines after the first listen. I love the energy, but yeah that white boy ... read more
I don't think it's fair to give this album an actual rating for two reasons. Firstly, Mac decided to give us a material that he was sitting on and that he probably was never going to do anything with anyways. Don't expect this to be Salad Days, it's demos. Secondly, it's almost 9 hours long. Some of the songs on here would've been album worthy, some are really that good. That being said, some others are really, REALLY bad. It's basically impossible to judge this kind of LP.
And before anybody ... read more

Non mais sérieusement là. Vraiment? POUR VRAI DE VRAI?!?
My honest first thought about this album is that it's a bit too long. The last few songs might be songs that I would've taken out, and the interludes, while being very original, are way too long for my liking. But then what's left is actually pretty enjoyable.
It seems like the big hit on the record is A&W, and while I do think it's a decent song, it doesn't crack my top 5 favs. Songs like the title track, The Grants, Grandfather..., Candy Necklace and ESPECIALLY Paris Texas are songs that ... read more
This is my first glimpse at Yves Tumor's music, but it sure as hell won't be the last. I just relistened to the album, moments ago, and I realised how much this album goes by fast. By the time I wondered which song I was listening to, I was already on track 10.
To be completely honest, I didn't know that Yves' music was this kind of rock-ish style. I thought they were a rapper, so the surprise was huge when I heard what this album was all about. What I also didn't expect was how solid this was ... read more
THEY CAN'T MISS!!!!1!1
A little over a year after releasing what ended up being my AOTY, they go on and release another gem. I'm not usually into live albums, but if you give me new music to, I'm willing to hear it live. By the way, the recording on this record is great. A lot of the times I just forget it's live until the claps and cheers at the end of the songs.
I was worried that the loss of Isaac would change the dynamic in the band, but oh boy was I wrong. It feels like every member ... read more
I've listened to this album way more than I usually do for any album before rating it. And I'm still struggling to fully understand everything that's going on in there. There's a lot to unpack and not enough time in a day.
It's experimental. It's weird. It's messy. But it still works pretty well. I'm not the biggest fan of ''Hardcore Hip Hop'' (that's what it's called on this website so that's the term I'll use), but when it somehow makes sense, I can live with it.
The first half is probably ... read more
Knowing that I spent time listening to this makes me a sad cowboy. I'm not in the mood to giddy up at this moment, thank you.
It's funny (and also great) how in the record, you can hear the different styles of songwriting. If you've ever listened to music by either of the three, you're usually able to identify very clearly which song is written, or very much influenced at the very least, by whom.
There's just so much to take in listening to this record. It's a very heavy album, but that is somehow very accessible as well. I'm pretty sure I'm just finishing my 7th listen, and I still feel like I should give this some ... read more
Let's be honest for a sec here. Is there an artist in the Neo-Soul/R&B scene that does it better than Daniel Caesar right now? And that does it consistently, without missing? I don't think so.
I wasn't a fan of the singles he released initially. None of them really caught my attention enough to deserve to be listened on a regular basis. That being said, most of the singles work much better in an album context. I had close to no interest regarding Let Me Go after its release. Between ... read more
I'm kinda undecided whether I like this record or not. On one hand, there's songs like mememe, Doritos & Fritos and I Got My Tooth Removed that are very good. On the other hand, songs like The Most Wanted Person In The United States or One Million Dollar are just... not great.
I like the creativity and the freedom in their music. It's one of their strongest perk for sure, but in certain situation one this album, it feels as if it's going almost too far, or forced if you will. I'd say the ... read more
