With most songs clocking in at under three minutes, this release has a real sense of immediacy and urgency while still managing to weave a compelling larger story.

God Is in the TV
It’s a raw and aggressive, mostly self-produced album with a level of honesty that is commendable and a showcase of skill that sets the bar high.

Metal Hammer

The whole thing is barely more than 20 minutes long, and yet it’s packing more ideas than many bands manage in an entire career. And it’s fucking brilliant.

The Needle Drop

With its chilling mix of rap, goth, punk, and noise, God Has Nothing to Do With This has a huge impact for such a concise project.

I'm already incredibly biased when it comes to Backxwash so just take this with a grain of salt but....OHHHHH HELL YES.

Backxwash takes the "Witchhop" label and darker themes of her last album to create her most haunting and devious sounding album yet. From the cries of "oh god no!" In the instrumental to shouting how she fucks with black magic, it sounds like the soundtrack to a trans 70s pulp horror film. 7.8 - Great

Yup. I missed this one too.

This album, in one word, is brutal. The instrumentals are insanely dark and grimy, which can be expected from a horrorcore album. With huge echoing drum patterns and deep submerssive rounded bass throughout, this new Backxwash albums f**ks so goddamn hard.

Montreal based, Backxwash really broke out with this album. Myself, residing in Toronto, know how hard it is for domestic artists to get their voice out in this country, but with a voice and sound like this, it was surely hard to keep a lid on it. The driving fragmented sound clips on each track progress more and more song by song, giving a murky muddy broken earphone ... read more

This album really has been sticking with me. I’ve been going back to it a lot. More than any other Backxwash album in fact

Ngl at first I thought this was more of a satanic album, but my opinion has swayed a small bit w this js having some very dark and heavy samples from Led zeppelin and Ozzy. This is a fun and gruesome album man I mean I fw black magic. This is one of her first albums that shows the more vulnerable side which she uses to carry out her career in music
