Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
90

My feelings for this album go beyond the musical aspect. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy feels stylistically rich in its atmosphere, complimented by braggadocious rap giving the album overall a fancy kind of feeling. Its timeless not only in its production but even the messages, the story of Kanye's redemption and its insane performances.

Boldy James & The Alchemist - Super Tecmo Bo

The user & Critic score honestly deserve more. This album holds some of Boldy's most satisfying and layered rap performances. Bumps & Bruises is still one of my top favorites ever.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA

Tyler, the Creator constantly pushes himself into a new boundary. From what we’ve seen as far back as his career goes Tyler has only evolved. Constantly finding new ways to reshape his art, looking around for all kinds of inspiration. Chromakopia is thematic in the sense of self healing. Putting all your mistakes and problems out there for the world and coming to terms with it all.

Leaving it all behind and creating a new start. Now when it ... read more

Etta James - Tell Mama

Sweet sweet perfection from Etta, one of my favorite voices ever.

Lupe Fiasco - Lasers

I don’t find the album appalling as much as others claim it to be. There’s not exactly flaw in the performances as much as flaw in the execution. Everything here feels painstakingly artificial instead of original and artistic.

Lupe goes pop and in doing so ends up creating his most commercial album. From all his pop features, to the catchy choruses, I don’t really hate it. I just don’t care for it. It sounds like he wanted to have that Kanye esque sound with all the ... read more

BIGGEST ARTIST OF 2024 (Rod Who?)

Honestly I'm impressed. Very repetitive in nature but nonetheless Big X shows lots of personality and brings pure energy to the plate. The trap beat choices are absolutely nuts with quaint samples doing some heavy work. Not to say the beat carries because X completely slides every time with infectious flows and power in his voice.

I went in expecting much less after hearing the cypher but I got to give credit. Although once again, he could easily ... read more

Burial - Untrue

For a while I spent my time sitting around, listening, trying my absolute hardest to grasp what made this album so beloved. I failed to piece together the vision others had already seen within this LP. The album had rhythm, it had the dark atmosphere, even some nice vocal usage. Despite these factors I couldn't fully grasp the appeal that almost every other listener had taken ahold of.

Until I stopped looking from a purely grooving perspective. Instead I took a moment to seize the ... read more

Yeat - LYFESTYLE

After pulling a complete 180 in his career with quality production and a more developed sound, Yeat does ANOTHER 180 and goes full 360.. right back to where he started.

"Cuz the writing is unbearably horrendous lmao. How could you possibly take her seriously? She tries so hard to create a serious atmosphere with thought provoking undertones but ends up writing some seriously goofy shit. I can drop multiple lines from almost every song that are super cringe."

"@Bandia If I don't mention a song sometimes it may mean that I don't really feel much for it therefore I don't have anything to really speak on but I can understand where you're coming from. I see the appeal, both picnic in paris and stargazing have great vocal performances I don't mind plus the atmosphere is very soothing. However they just don't stand out too much compared to the higher highs he's had on the album in my opinion but that's personal taste."
