this is such a cool record
a very solid rock effort but with so much personality and character, the pop elements give it such an interesting edge, almost some sprinkles of electronic elements littered about here too - especially on the amazing ‘Superconnected’, which reminds me a little of some Animal Collective stuff.
Hard Rock isn’t hugely my thing, BUTTTT this slaps so hard i’m legally obliged to give it a high rating
the first half is a lot stronger but that’s okay
are my ears dumbasses or is this the least hardcore any punk album has ever sounded??
okay that’s an exaggeration but this thing sounds soft if i’m honest - it feels scared to crank up the noise, turn up the aggression, bump up the grit
It’s far too smooth and rounded for me, it has no edge to it.

it’s a perfectly fine album ... read more
this thing was THROWAWAYS?????
beautiful back to front
and WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME LILAC WINE WAS A COVER I’D HAVE LISTENED TO THIS SOONER
classic/10
okay firstly, i hear it, it has some cool ideas and cool sounds. but i also hear the fact it sounds like it’s been recorded on a bamboo stick. RYM has gone too far. a totally random Burmese album from 1978??? are you fucking kidding me?? there’s lo-fi and there’s a tin can recording of a random (albeit undoubtably talented) Burmese woman. Be serious. If this was actually slightly more listenable it’d probably get a score in the mid 70s (3.5 stars) but alas it sounds like ... read more
that first half is nuts
a wildly punkish hardcore record that puts its foot on the gas and doesn’t take it off
i don't usually rate singles but Friko just covered what might be my favourite song ever...
and it's pretty good!
not sure why i expected this to be ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’ 2, it very much was not, but even so… yummy
