Gunna, Freddie Gibbs, and Eminem being in the same album is very amusing to me
The zoomba class instructors are gonna love this one. If you didn’t already know, FKA Twigs is an incredible dancer. One thing I really appreciated about CAPRISONGS is that it sounds like she’s making music that SHE can dance to. The songs are perhaps catchier and more accessible than the ones on Magdalene, yet it still feels unique and totally personal to FKA Twigs
The production is LUSH. Turbo, Wheezy, Southside, Mike WiLL, Metro, and several others. These are producers that can be average at times, but they brought only heat for DS4EVER.
There’s more effort in this than there is in the previous Drip Season mixtapes - feels more like an album.
The first half of this album is strong as hell.
“pushin P”, “poochie gown”, “mop”, “thought i was playing”, and “alotta cake” are all really ... read more
I wish that I could go back in time to a club in London in the 90s
This isn’t up to par with his other works. Lyrically it’s uninspired and the whole thing sounds rushed or as if it was made in only a couple of months (there are several lines that support this as well).
There is no direction in LIVE LIFE FAST. One of the better songs is “no way”. In the outro, Jamie Foxx says to slow things down as he would with Ye back in the day. This got me excited - Slow Jamz is an S Tier Ye song.
Here you might think “oh we finally have ... read more
I just couldn't really connect with the music as much as some of you do - my favorites were I Knew You Were Trouble and We Are Never Getting Back Together lol... However one song that spoke volumes to me was 22 because of my age!!!
Brandon Banks just hits diff for me. Though this is a brighter album with more elaborate production, i guess i just appreciated the simplicity and grimyness that Brandon Banks had to offer more. Still, REALLY solid stuff from Maxo
If there's one thing we learn from VISIONLAND, it's that YBN Nahmir will slide with the gang-gang regardless. Furthermore, when he do, he bounce out with the .44
Not much has changed since we last saw him.
One of my favorite electronic albums. An essential release for dubstep and EDM at the time.
Idk why I like this album so much. Like, I hate most of Rich The Kidd's stuff and it's all practically the same, so why don't I hate this one? Like I said, I don't know. It's so bad, yet so enjoyable. I think it has JUST enough form to make you forget about how bad it is - and I'm okay with that.
This dude is trying so hard to to be Roddy Ricch, but is nowhere near as good even at Roddy’s worst.
The YBN trio is hilarious to me. You have Nahmir who was put in the spotlight with “Rubbin off the Paint”, and the other two followed closely behind. Cordae was always the most talented rapper of the three. His singles were sick, and Lost Boy was a really good debut for him. At some point down the line Nahmir fell off so hard it’s not even funny - though I will say he ... read more
Weezer create some beautiful songs here by using a nice variety of instruments combined with Rivers Cuomo's voice - a voice that I will always recognize and even find comfort in. Lyrically this is a very present-day album. You of course have your classic Rivers quatables and witty lines, but it feels like there was some more thought put forth here. Weezer capture a lot of the angst and loneliness that many people have been feeling during this pandemic perfectly. Overall, a wonderfully ... read more
I think I arrived a little late to 2021, but this was a GREAT first album of the year for me. There are some lows, which is unfortunate because the highs are off the scale. Snow Day and Human, for a minute are transcendingg.
DISCLAIMER: UNPOPULAR OPINION
This *almost lives up to the hype. I say almost because before this dropped I was truly questioning if I could let myself give Playboi Carti a 100. To answer that, I don’t think I will BUT I still feel like this is an incredible project up there with his other two. I currently have Whole Lotta Red under his self titled, and just above Die Lit 😮... AND there’s room for it to grow on me. I really like this and I don’t care what anyone says.

This album has a lot of really good Jhene songs, some of her best actually. I think the album should’ve ended after Overstimulated though. It’s clear she had a concept in mind for this album, but I think it was executed somewhat poorly. The Bad Trip Interlude is pretty laughable, as well as the other bits of dialogue throughout the album. While We’re Young, Moments (ft. Big Sean), and Sativa are hits. Definitely good smoking music too, with chimes and other nice meditative ... read more
The vibes are immaculate.
Also Park is one of the hardest songs of the century.
Daniel Johnston seems like he would've been a wonderful person to be around. I want to know more about him and his story, because it appears as though he was a troubled man. The albums I like most are ones where I can be completely submerged in all aspects. Lo-Fi music directly challenges this because its premise is to strip back on these aspects, which can be really hit or miss for me. The lyrics were intriguing, but everything else felt as though it was lacking. Maybe I'll listen to ... read more
