This may be one of the few Lil Tjay songs I’ve actually connected with. The melodic beat is good and Lil Tjay comes through a decent melodic flow with a catchy hook. Much better than that shitty drill shit he was trying to do earlier this year. If he continues with music like this, who knows? Maybe I’ll enjoy his next project.
I have been trying to write a meme review for this song for like 15 minutes but nothing I write can properly and accurately describe how ass this is
Sam Smith can do better, I know they can.
I’m a huge fan of In The Lonely Hour, as it came out while I was on middle school and it brings back a lot of memories. But where that album has emotion, The Trill Of It All just felt empty. The songwriting didn’t have the same magic as I felt the first one did. So going into this, I was hoping this would be a return to form, but the singles from earlier this year and last year scared me. Thankfully, they’re only on here as ... read more
YES YES YES IM A SUCH A TIERRA WHACK STAN I LOVE IT WE HAVE NEW TIERRA WHACK HAHAHAHAHA
Ok now that the excitement has worn off:
This song is just so likeable and playful. The instrumental is cute and Tierra’s vocals were a little weird at first but even after only a few listens it’s grown on me tremendously.
I give up on Trippie.
Who told Trippie Redd they wanted a 26 song album with an hour and 14 minutes of music?
Trippie’s last few projects have had a handful of tracks I enjoy and a shit ton of filler. And this is the same. Pegasus is wayyyyyyyyy too long. The production is boringly basic and Trippie barely does anything remotely fucking interesting over it most of the time. The features are mostly ass, and almost nothing grabs your attention or makes you pay attention. I will never ... read more
After her last two albums, which are two of my favorite pop albums of last decade, Ariana really had a chance to cement her status and build out a great discography. Unfortunately, while this album isn’t bad and I do like it quite a bit, it feels like a step backwards for her.
Similarly to Thank U Next, this album feels rushed. But where Thank U Next felt like an album, this doesn’t. It’s solid collection of songs, but it doesn’t feel like a cohesive listen. It just ... read more
Ayo what the fuck is this and why does it exist?
Mf really made Halloween Stock Sounds: The Album
That growl had me dying tho so + 5 I guess
At the end of the day, I don’t have as big of an issue with this album as I did with his last. Yeah, it’s very emotionally empty and he thinks it’s more substantive than it is, but it’s not as groaningly and annoyingly horrible as ADHD was. It’s just boring as fuck.
Fav Tracks: Evolution
Least Fav Tracks: Zim Zimma
This beat is super fun, and Rico and Don Toliver work well together. Gucci Mane is eh, but I really like this one.
There was a really good album somewhere in here, but unfortunately there’s just too much filler and it’s just too long to really be as good as it could be.
Don’t get me wrong: this album is pretty decent; It’s just that it should have been cut in half. There’s just too many generic and uninteresting movements, and it’s hard to stay attentive for an hour when there is this much filler, even if there are many highlights. With that being said, the production on ... read more
It's not anything groundbreaking, but its yet again another solid Ariana single.
The production is pretty good and so is the songwriting. The hook is catchy, and her vocal performance is great as usual. Interested to see how this album sounds.
edit: Yeah, this grew on me. Going from a 75 to an 80.
Original review:
I think if you combined these last two projects, made it more concise, and trimmed some of the unnecessary moments, you would have a potential classic on your hands. But instead, it just feels like a really interesting idea that just has been stretched out with a lot of filler in between.
As much as I did find the last album to be interesting and intriguing, there were only a handful of songs that really connected with ... read more
I had never heard a full Gorillaz album before this.
I know, I know. But I’d heard MOST of their classic songs. And after listening to this, I will be going back because holy SHIT.
This album is just pure fun. I absolutely love the synth-filled production, and the strange ass collaborations and combinations of features make this an incredibly fun listen. For sure one of the best albums of the year.
Also, this review doesn’t technically include the deluxe songs, but those were ... read more
This man desperately just wanted a song called Tyler Herro after the NBA Finals lmaooo
There’s a few lines that are groaners but overall it’s solid. Beat kinda basic but it’s cool. Don’t hate it
