ok so I used to love Juice in middle school, and I saw his estate decided to drop another garbage posthumous record (I will never listen to any posthumous juice unless its Legends Never Die, and even then it's iffy), so I thought I'd revisit.
low-key if was mid ASF. yes he had some bangers, and I understand the appeal, it just felt so rinse and repeat, to the point where I couldn't distinguish songs. I mean to be fair, I was playing videos games while listening, but even then, ... read more
pretty good mixtape, I really liked the more rnb style cuts, and I think she can do a lot in the future, nothing necessarily stood out as incredible, but it was all consistently good
this is peak music, so soothing and the production behind her voice is so dynamic, very very cool laufey, she the goat fr
very very bloated, however, a few songs are bangers and he shows a lot of potential for the future. I enjoy the bangers and will probably revisit them a lot, but the rest I doubt I will come back to
dude I was NOT expecting this drop
I need to start off... this is def his weakest project, that being said, he still popped off. there were a couple songs I thought were mid, like the title track, however, overall this was a solid project. songs like gloria, heart pt6 and reincarnated was very deep and insightful, and songs like squabble up and TV off being bangers. it's pretty cool, I think I need more time with it tho
this album disturbs me... which means it did its job, so for that I commend it
after first listen and researching the album, I seem to have gotten a general narrative, that being him fighting his demons and societal taboos (hence the name), and slowly throughout he starts to lose the battle as the music gets darker and darker. now I could be wrong narratively, but if I am correct, this album is quite impressive, and goes over so many dark themes it's hard to keep count
the main issue I ... read more
i feel like the new songs are pretty good, i may have to sit with a couple of them for longer because some didnt click with me at first, pretty good additions, but not enough for any insane score raise, but it does make this feel like an album like he said, very cool zeltron
forgot to review this after listening, but it came out on my birthday, that's cool lol. pretty good project, I liked the new sounds and more ambient production used, I just had more standout tracks on isolation
has Cordae always been this good??? I'm low-key shocked. I never listened to Cordae cuz I heard he was corny like Logic, but I saw nfr say that this was an aoty contender, and after listening, I see why. I saw this feature list and how stacked it was and got excited, and every feature delivered imo (except ye, as a ye glazer, can he please retire ts hurts me man, and he was barely on the song). cordaes pen game was insane, and so many I prospective tracks done tastefully. also am so happy ... read more
I was not expecting to love this album as much as I did, this is awesome, so many relatable tracks, and such great performances all around, I will return to this and check out more Kali Uchis. very cool
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO
song is a banger don't get me wrong, but dawg why did u feel the need to make it 5 minutes, this would be an 80 if it were like 2.5 minutes, and while it's still be the worst single, I wouldn't be as bored. this a long with such a extended rollout has killed the hype for this album a lot for me, which scares me, but I still have faith in my goat
edit: nvm ts bops, I lied
dude initially thoughts r very crazy. some of these features were ones I would have NEVER guessed in my right mind, but low-key they were fire. I love how Tyler always reinvents his sound, and in my opinion, this is his second best album (Igor is still #1). I was kinda lost narratively, but I can see the vision, of removing the mask and of dullness and society. this is his most open project, he dives into so many topics and places where most artists would be scared to go. I have a ton of ... read more
dude has Tecca always been this good
don't get me wrong, this ain't mind blowing or anything, but for perspective, I feel this is better then 2 of the 3 future albums, and even more crazy, better than both Kanye albums. the transitions on this album are nuts, and this is fairly consistently good. nothing mind blowing, but some good melodic trap. I feel that if Tecca locked in and did what Yeat did this year, and tries a new different style that is genre-bending, he could create ... read more
this album takes a less rnb style approach, and I think it leads to some great tracks and while it's not as good as Malibu or Silk Sonic, it's still very consistent and incredible. Paak is one of the most talented yet most under rated artists of our generation.
PEAK MUSIC HAS BEEN INVENTED
ok besides the glazing, I will not remove this rating, for a few reasons
1: this is probably Carti's best verse ever imo, his lyrical content isn't amazing, but no Carti verse is, plus he does 3 different voices from his whole catalog, and he is actually understandable on this
2: the production man, Pharrell and Mike Dean made it so good bro
3: the story of the song. many arent seeing the connection to the album, this song is The Weeknd telling Abel ... read more
my main issue with future is he doesn't know how to curate. I love the melodics on this album, buts it's just so bloated, which seems to be a reoccurring issue with him. if this tracklist was like 10 tracks it's an easy 75+, but it's so bloated that I got bored quickly. had some bangers tho
I wanted to like this album more because I love her voice, but some songs r just boring or her vocals are mixed poorly imo. a few rly good songs tho
