The undeniable king of noise records. It’s obviously not for everyone, but I personally find something incredibly soothing in the noise. It’s a very similar experience with what I get from ambient music, but in a much more visceral sense. Very much not for everyone, but it’s still a personal favorite of mine.
This could very well grow on me. There are several absolutely beautiful moments, some infectious production, and interesting ideas presented throughout. But sometimes the production seemed to minimal, and the greatness to faint. Too many forgettable moments to save the album.
Good News showcases that Megan Thee Stallion is an incredibly talented rapper from a technical standpoint with an impressive flow throughout the album. The production is pretty good throughout the album, almost always playing to Megan’s strengths. Overall, the album is definitely enjoyable but Megan Thee Stallion seems to be writing herself into a corner. There isn’t much flexibility in the lyrically content of the album, and there never is a truly stand out moment. The songs just ... read more
I enjoyed two songs on this album, the rest ranged from forgettable to bad. There was no chemistry between Lil Uzi and Future for the entire release, their performances sounded like they were just trying to get the recording process over with to just make a quick buck. The production most of the time is decent, but not groundbreaking. It’s definitely not enough to save the album. Lyrically the album doesn’t offer anything of noteworthiness but that’s to be expected.
I’m re-reviewing all the pre-Help Beatles’ albums because they’ve lost their charm on me. This one is good, but that’s it.
Original Score: 84
The all new 2020 Ford Explorer. Feel the rush as you cruise down the American Countryside, Daytona Beach, and through the Smokey Mountains with four wheel drive. Feel the power of 350 horses as you accelerate down the wide open American road. Ride for hours of pure American bliss with 26 miles per gallon as well as an all new American hybrid engine. Feel the rush, feel America, feel Ford.
Why does this have a 69 user score? This is some of their best material.
A lot of beautiful moments throughout as well as some of the best ambient tracks I’ve ever heard. Some of the drones seem a bit lifeless in comparison to others, but those moments are so few and far between that they don’t entirely bog down the album experience.
Well, that was just pretty meh. It started off really well with the tracks “Magic” and “Miss a Thing” but it just kinda dwindled from there. The disco sound becomes really stale after a while, making the latter half nowhere near as engaging as the beginning. Also, Kylie Minogue’s voice just isn’t doing it for me. It’s not bad by any means but it just gets tiresome like the rest of the album. It’s not bad and there are certainly some highlights but ... read more
It has a great atmosphere, but that’s almost expected with an ambient album. This feels very much uninspired unlike some of their other works. It still has its highlights (Anchor States, Part 1) especially, but there isn’t enough here for me.
It lacks the emotion of the first and just seems even less inspired. However, it’s still a decent album with some great moments such as Lactate’s Moment.
There are some genuinely gorgeous and inspiring moments on this album, but multiple drones felt uninspired and were drawn out too long.
