I’m honestly kinda speechless. I feel like the instrumentation was a bit bare at some points and some of the field recordings lasted on a bit too long. But that’s really my only complaints. The guitar is beautiful and Ichiko Aoba is easily one of my favorite vocalists of all time. I can’t really comment on the lyrical topics considering that I don’t speak Japanese and simply translating it would lose its meaning (but from some of the translations I saw this is likely a ... read more
I actually like it. The mixing isn’t great but it adds to the charm, and the way the instrumentation and vocals play off each other create such a unique listening experience. Also, it’s not bad lyrically and some of the hooks are incredibly infectious (After Prom is a great example). Yeah, I actually liked this. I would comfortably listen to this again.
Separating the soundtrack from the anime it's still one of the best alt-rock albums out there.

I think if I were looking at this objectively, it would be a much higher score. But I’m not, my numerical scores are entirely based on my personal opinion and enjoyment.
I don’t know, I can’t find what’s wrong with this album, everything is done incredibly well. But it’s just not 100% clicking with me. I feel like there’s something missing that prohibiting me from fully immersing myself in this album. That’s why I’m deducting 15 points. ... read more
In celebration that this got a Grammy nom, I’m here to say. It’s pretty okay. That’s it, it’s okay, but very forgettable.
My neighbors love this album so much that they always knocking my door and yelling at me while I’m listening to it. I don’t know what they’re saying, but I’m assuming they want it to be louder.
