Fishmans - 空中キャンプ [Kūchū Camp]
90

Like, this is just packed with absolute bangers.

青葉市子 [Ichiko Aoba] - 0
90

I’m honestly kinda speechless. I feel like the instrumentation was a bit bare at some points and some of the field recordings lasted on a bit too long. But that’s really my only complaints. The guitar is beautiful and Ichiko Aoba is easily one of my favorite vocalists of all time. I can’t really comment on the lyrical topics considering that I don’t speak Japanese and simply translating it would lose its meaning (but from some of the translations I saw this is likely a ... read more

Farrah Abraham - My Teenage Dream Ended
80

I actually like it. The mixing isn’t great but it adds to the charm, and the way the instrumentation and vocals play off each other create such a unique listening experience. Also, it’s not bad lyrically and some of the hooks are incredibly infectious (After Prom is a great example). Yeah, I actually liked this. I would comfortably listen to this again.

the pillows - フリクリ (FLCL): OST 1 ~ Addict
95

Separating the soundtrack from the anime it's still one of the best alt-rock albums out there.

Fishmans - King Master George
70

Yeah, the reggae and dub is still here, but this is definitely a major improvement on their debut.

Fishmans - Chappie, Don't Cry
60

I don’t really like reggae but it’s still not awful.

Björk - Vulnicura
80

Yeah this is great. This is probably one of those albums that will really grow on me over time.

Björk - Biophilia
76

Yeah this is probably the weakest release in her discography. It’s a beautiful album, but vocally Björk doesn’t sound as good as on her other albums. And at some points I found myself just getting disinterested in what I was listening to.

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
87

This album sounds phenomenal.

Daft Punk - Human After All
72

This is definitely not as bad as it’s made out to be. It’s definitely their most abrasive and darkest album but that doesn’t make it bad. I will admit some more sonic variety would do this album good, but it’s still an interesting batch of songs with some career highlights for Daft Punk.

Yoko Takahashi & Megumi Hayashibara - EVANGELION FINALLY
85

I’m honestly still so happy that Komm Süsser Tod (one of my all time favorite songs) and Thanatos - If I Can’t Be Yours are available to stream. Can’t wait to listen to some of these phenomenal songs on vinyl. Yeah, this is a great compilation album. Is this a 2020 or a 2021 release.

Welp, I had a fairly in depth review but my laptop glitches out and deleted it. So here is a heavily condensed version. It’s great, I love the genre fusion, the story is great, all the performances are phenomenal, and I loved the willingness to experiment.

Run The Jewels - RTJ4
90

This was my first RTJ album. Definitely will not be the last.

Blu & Exile - Miles: From an Interlude Called Life
85

I think if I were looking at this objectively, it would be a much higher score. But I’m not, my numerical scores are entirely based on my personal opinion and enjoyment.

I don’t know, I can’t find what’s wrong with this album, everything is done incredibly well. But it’s just not 100% clicking with me. I feel like there’s something missing that prohibiting me from fully immersing myself in this album. That’s why I’m deducting 15 points. ... read more

Jacob Collier - Djesse (Vol. 3)
64

In celebration that this got a Grammy nom, I’m here to say. It’s pretty okay. That’s it, it’s okay, but very forgettable.

Black Dresses - Peaceful as Hell
83

Damn this shit is peaceful as hell.

Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?
95

My neighbors love this album so much that they always knocking my door and yelling at me while I’m listening to it. I don’t know what they’re saying, but I’m assuming they want it to be louder.

Playboi Carti - Die Lit
85

I realized I didn’t put a score on this one, yeah it’s great.
