This is a jazz album. One of the best of them. Not much else to say about it.
A unique modern pop/r&b record by an artist I long considered mediocre, too mainstream, and too generic. Glad I gave this a listen now so I could actually hear the good of the album, because Work was one of my only impressions on the album for a very long time and I can't stand that song.
The album is fantastic, although the vocals kind of hinder it at some points, the grooves keep you interested no matter what.
Best: "Lovesong"
Worst: "Closedown"
Although viewed as a one hit wonder, I would say there's two at most. This is one of the most mediocre and unsatisfying albums ever across any genre.
Best: "Wonderwall"
Worst: "She's Electric"
An eclectic mix by the group, definitely the most mainstream sound they could've went for but it did work on most songs.
Best: "Do I Wanna Know?"
Worst: "No. 1 Party Anthem"
I struggle to hear what's so good about this album, I think the experimentation is there but falls flat.
Best: "I'm Waiting For My Man"
Worst: "Heroin"
Smooth, sensual and emotional music with great production. Sade is a fantastic singer and glides on these beats with ease.
Best: "Kiss of Life"
Worst: "Like a Tattoo"
2Pac is a legend, and an arguable top 3 rapper of all time in his very short career. This album is 13 songs too long and it would've had a higher score if shorter.
Best: "All Eyez on Me"
Worst: "Only God Can Judge Me"
I must say that I am not experienced, but that doesn't stop the album from gripping my attention for the entire length.
Best: "Purple Haze"
Worst: "Third Stone From The Sun"
Erykah Badu is a fantastic vocalist, unfortunately the down moments on the album hinder the experience, but the highs are VERY high.
Best: "On & On"
Worst: "Sometimes"
Legendary album that's aged as you'd expect, although most of the albums filler fails to keep your attention.
Best: "Me, Myself, and I"
Worst: "De La Orgee"
I was going into this album dreading how slow it would be but actually it's a very pleasant listen. Would recommend for anyone
Best: "Frankly, Mr. Shankly"
Worst: "Vicar in a Tutu"
I can't stand how boring this album is, no matter what you do while listening to Dummy, this album feels like it's 15 hours long.
Best: "Strangers"
Worst: "Wandering Star"
One of the greatest indie rock albums out there, fantastic effort from a great band.
Best: "Someday"
Worst: "The Modern Age"
One of the closest metal albums to perfection, Master of Puppets never gets stale no matter how many times you hear the album.
Best: "Battery"
Worst: "The Thing That Should Not Be"
You can't deny the impact of this classic album, however it has aged like milk. The beats hurt your head after a while and 80s flows were never really cool.
Best: "Fuck Tha Police"
Worst: "Quiet On The Set"
Brainwashing music.. I don't even see the point of this tbh, how can you dance to it or anything? It's so mundane.
Best: "Franz Schubert"
Worst: "Trans-Europe Express"
Not a yacht rock person, but I can't deny that this album isn't actually bad, it's just not for me.
Best: "Aja"
Worst: "Deacon Blues"
