Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
94

This was both dark and beautiful. Like Clockwork by QOTSA is a 2013 alternative/stoner rock album. The album has a haunting and moody atmosphere, with its heavy riffs and also slow, melancholic tracks, it has a unique balance, and manages to blend multiple genres, like hard and melodic rock. The singing on this one is great, with Josh Homme’s vocals adding a lot of emotion into the songs, and his voice being pretty good and melodic as well. The instrumentals and production are also ... read more

JAY-Z - The Blueprint
98

The best thing that happened during 9/11. The Blueprint is a 2001 East Coast hip-hop album by famous rapper Jay-Z. This album has a really great flow, with some amazing beats, some great samples and instrumentals, and Jay-Z’s rapping is on point, and his lyrics are just fire, plus the fact that he puts all of this together is really great. In conclusion, an almost perfect rap album by a solid artist, no complains.
(i might have to re-review this one later)

Elliott Smith - Elliott Smith
98

This was both sad and comforting. Elliott Smith by Elliott Smith is a 1995 indie folk/singer-songwriter album. This album has a very “lo-fi” sounding quality and production, and has a very simple and subtle sound, with most songs just being Elliott and his acoustic guitar, but he pulls off this sound in a pretty good way, which makes him and this project fell very personal. The lyrics in this one are pretty dark, and although the album doesn’t have a concept or a topic, its ... read more

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
84

A really great and solid psychedelic/funk album that has a lot of really great moments, but also some dead and boring moments, but it’s overall a solid project, combining psychedelic and funk music in a great way.
FAV TRACK: Maggot Brain
LEAST FAVE: Back in Our Minds

Geordie Greep - The New Sound
87

Pretty fun and short prog rock album, but also kinda horny (full review soon)

Mobb Deep - The Infamous
95

This was smooth. The infamous is a 1995 gangsta rap album by hip-hop duo Mobb Deep. This album has a lot of really good and flows songs, whit some bars that are really impressive and go over your head, while also talking about the real life in New York in the early/mid 90’s, and that’s reflected not only in this album, but in the overall hip-hop movement of the east-coast. The beats in this album are really solid and also iconic, with a mix of east-coast and classic elements of ... read more

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
97

This was amazing. Led Zeppelin IV is a hard/blues rock album made by Led Zeppelin(obviously) released in the year 1971. The album features that classic bluesy Texas sound, while also having a big heavy rock sound, filled with a lot of atmosphere and noise, but the album calms down in certain times, kinda like a breather, and then it goes back to the action. The singing by Robert Plant is really great, and his voice is probably one of the most iconic in rock n’ rock, also Jimmy ... read more

Joanna Newsom - Ys
94

This folk album is a really nice mix and blend of some really great vocals, some medieval inspired guitars and instrumental, some touching lyrics and also a lot of string arrangements. Just a great folk album, but imo, it’s too folk and “medieval sounding” for me.(full review soon)

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata
91

This was good. Piñata by Freddie Gibbs & Madlib is a gangsta rap/hip-hop album released in the year 2014. This album has a very aggressive and “gangsta” sound, while also having some very nice and creative soul samples, and also, while being of Madlib production, you can tell that this is influenced by Madvillany and some other projects. The rapping and lyrics from Freddie Gibbs show that he’s a really great rapper, and also the reason that Madlib decided to collab ... read more

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
94

This was fun. Plastic Beach is a 2010 Art/electro pop album by Gorillaz. Thai album has both a very mainstream pop sound, and a lot of more niche experimental elements, while also being stacked with features from rappers and singers, which makes this record a great mix and blend of a lot of store and genres of music, with every song feeling like a new experience and a different genre or type of music, kinda like a lot of albums into one. Also this album is incredibly produced and well made. In ... read more

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
95

This was just good. The Black Parade is a 2006 Alt-Rock/Punk/Emo album by My Chemical Romance(or MCR). The album has a classic 2000’s punk sound, but with a lot of “emo” elements, like some pianos in some songs, some of the lyrics and some of the desperate and “broken” sound of the vocals, which make it honestly better, because there’s a lot of corny and terrible emo music, but this album(and MCR) have made the genre more listenable and enjoyable, and with ... read more

Depeche Mode - Violator
82

This wasn’t what I expected from this project, since I though that it was going to be more like Joy Division or The Cure, kinda like New Wave/Post-Punk, but instead I got a weird mix of electronic synth-pop and “darkwave”, but in my opinion this album isn’t really anything special to me, its just some regular synth pop album that tries to implement new elements and experimentation, but that doesn’t quite get there. Personally I was quite disappointed and expected ... read more

Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
100

This album was kinda devastating. Carrie & Lowell is a 2015 singer-songwriter/indie folk album Sufjan Stevens. This album has a pretty and beautiful sound at times, with some great acoustic guitars and pianos all through the album, also Sufjan’s singing is just amazing, one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. Also, the lyrics and entire concept of this album make it way better, knowing that he dedicated this album to his deceased mother that passed away from cancer ... read more

Portishead - Dummy
100

How can something be so devastating, yet quirky and fun. Dummy by Portishead is a 1994 Trip-Hop/Electronic music album, featuring 11 tracks and a length of 49 minutes. The album has a very experimental and unique sound, kinda like a mix between experimental, jazz and hip-hop in one big project, with some very weird and interesting little sounds and things, similar to Vespertine by Bjork. The album also has some very great singing by Bett Gibbons, who’s voice is close to perfect on this ... read more

Slowdive - Souvlaki
97

This album is a really great dream-pop/shoegaze album that has that kind of ethereal and sublime kinda vibe, similar to MBV or Cocteau Twins, and also the singing, while subtle and not being the main picture is pretty hypnotic and great as well. Overall a great shoegaze album with some hypnotic vibes.

Lorde - Melodrama
96

This was kinda good. Melodrama is a 2018 alt-pop album by Kiwi artist Lorde; the album has what you would expect from a pop album, but is has a lot of experimental elements that really make this a unique experience, and make this project be more towards the “synthpop” genre. The singing by Lorde was pretty solid and helped an album which at the surface sounds like a simple “pop” record, but deep down it shows Lorde’s true emotions and colors, showing what ... read more

Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
94

This was kinda sweeet. Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan is a 1966 Folk/Blues Rock, this album has a pretty good and bluesy vibe to it, and also it sounds kinda country as well, with it’s heavy usage of harmonicas and guitars, it really adds a folk/country vibe, but the electric guitars give it that bluesy touch, also Bob’s vocals being to soft and subtle, and at times strong and powerful, this album is really a mix of some great folk and blues tunes combined into one big project. Also ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - LP! (Offline Version)
97

I really loved this one. LP! (Offline Version) is an experimental hip-hop album by JPEGMAFIA pr Peggy, this album has a very peculiar album, i expected it to sound jinda like Death Grips or Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown, but instead i got a mix of some hardcore rapping and a lot of very creative samples and beats, like Peggy’s creativity and genius really shines through this project and this just shows the potential that Peggy really has, he has a really bright future ahead of him, ... read more

Death - Symbolic
92

This was a very chaotic album. This Death Metal record was pretty good, with the sound that you would expect from such an album, the distorted guitars, the heavy drums and the screamy vocals, but imo this was solid, but it was pretty repetitive and kinda unoriginal, but very energetic. Solid album btw.

Joni Mitchell - Blue
90

This is a great and sweet folk album, with some gentle vocals and nice little pianos and guitars, but it’s a bit too short imo, and also not enough emotion in this album. Still solid tho.
