I didn't realize there were so many ways you could spell SIRENS
but I agree with the sentiment that it doesn't pack as much punch as Curry's other project, and on his quest to be more original it feels like he's weakened his skills a tad. Thankfully this packs so many solid bangers and verses, and is still so much more diverse than his previous stuff. It took me a while, but this is definitely one of my fave's of the year.
fave tracks: Sumo, SuperSaiyanSuperman, Vengance, Sirens, BMT
Wow she was tastier than I thought! Really diverse flavoring, and the meal got better towards the end, leaving me with an awesome aftertaste. Not for everyone, and definitely a tad undercooked, but overall Grandma's a 4 star meal. And the album was good too
fave tracks: Donnie Darko, I Will Be Waiting, Cool & Collected, Falling Into Me, Snakes & Ladders, The Cat's Pyjamas lol
best boyband since ameer's departure
EDIT: That got old quick....last rating was 90
If You’re Reading This It’s Terrible
Listening to Scorpion is like overheating in a desert, walking from one sparkling song oasis to another, eventually dehydrating, dying from lack of quality, engagement & importance.
Not to say there aren’t some really great songs on here, but overall, even VIEWS is more memorable. I sometimes want to retreat to literally any other album of his. It sounds like God’s Plan blew up, and Drake said welp, gotta make 24 more songs real ... read more
"Mike never tried to rap like Pac, Pac never tried to sing like Mike"
Those my dad's words to me when I asked him how to make it in life
And I always said my mother gave the greatest advice, yeah"
finally on my last stop before reviewing Scorpion, I had to rate Drake's BEST VERSE LIVING DON'T @ ME!!!!!
Drake is confusing and disappointing nowadays, not putting in too much effort across the board, hyping up albums with little to no substance or skill, even when we know he has it ... read more
I USED TO WANT TO BE ON ROC-A-FELLA THEN I TURNED INTO JAY
Drake bodies the Prez, Toronto rap wanabes, Meek Mill, Jay and honestly anyone who would ever doubt him or come after him again on this sinister track. The beat is intense (and definitely he hasn't had a better one since), the beat switch is unexpected, and the lyrics are HARD HITTING, SAVAGE AND SALACIOUS.
America's music makers? How did you let him run it down here, HE'S NOT EVEN FROM AROUND HERE
again WHY WASN'T THIS ON VIEWS?!?
Pop rap at its best. It's grandiose, it's memorable, great verses through and through! After re-listening all these years I forget how many songs weren't meant for radio play. It's really dense and well done, patient, creative and engaging. Also, remember he's a singer too! These have his best R&B songs PERIOD.
Is it Drake's best album? Arguable....
It can be cheesy sometimes cause sometimes it WAS on the radio. But honestly, at the time, it was the best thing you heard.

SIX GOD PUT THEM HANDS TOGETHER THATS AMAZING GRACE
As you know, the gospel according to Aubrey is THICCC with catchy punchlines, grotesque bars, engaging humble brags, and serves as an honest to goodness origin story, and the first proof that we actually have that he "started from the bottom". However the length, it's not a slog at all, each beat is unique and simple and punchy. His hooks are better than ever, and they're so many GREAT ONE LINERS! Even the R&B breaks are really ... read more
GREATEST HITS AUBERY GRAHAM
It's truly the pinnacle of pop superstar 6 God. I'm honestly surprised at the quality of some of these songs especially after his last album. He perfects his culture vulturing here, and proves he can still make supremely hyped bangers and spit cold bars. However, my biggest concern is that he's getting more and more accustomed to releasing projects back to back. He should've waited with VIEWS, and released the best of both worlds here. And he had some of his best ... read more
FUTURE FREEBANDZ CARRIES IT BUT THESE ARE STILL ALL AROUND CONSISTENT BOPS

ok how about THEY HATED THE BOY BUT NOW THE BOY IS THE MAN THE BROTHA DONE GROWED UP
I daresay the best beats of The Boy's career! Way to go 40! Drake really comes to life here on these genre bending songs, featuring his most versatile song structures and flows! The R&B cut to a minimum, this album is just an all around great rap record for rap lovers!
But I must point out that Birdman literally ruins The ... read more
if you say this isn't one of the best diss tracks of all time, well...
I don't want to hear about this ever again
I'm glad for this album.
I'm rating it penultimately in his discography, but its a solid reminder that while he's never perfect, he's usually quite good.
The hits are legendary tracks, and the one offs don't even get me mad. Decent debut from The Boy.
fave tracks: Over, Fancy, Fireworks, Karaoke is a personal FAVE, Show Me A Good Time, Up All Night, Find Your Love
Since Scorpion dropped I gotta rate all the Draek albums and I figured the best metric is to start at the worst one. Worst because each great song is met with a bland or superbly badly made one.
Pop Style was better with Kanye. Redemption, With You, & Faithful are all nearly the same song.
Hype is SUPER limp. And many of the others are just super forgettable.
Not irredeemable as many might believe. Fire & Desire is one of the top 10 best Drake songs.
And don't pretend you don't bump ... read more
STRAIGHT FROM THE DUNGEONS OF RAP WHERE FAKE BROTHAS DON'T MAKE IT BACK
i mean what do you want me to say it's illmatic. this is the album that convinced most of us rap could be next level. this is the album everyone compares back to, and for good reason. Dark, relentless, sagely, and oh so simple. Every bar counts. Every beat is used to it's fullest potential. Even if I might personally have several favorites i'd rank above this, I gotta give credit where credit's due.
It's the gold ... read more
if he didn't release Lazers, or Food & Liquor II
DELIVER COULD'VE BEEN A RADIO HIT
just think about that
essentially lupe corrects all of his sins here. It's his MBDTF!
Blur My Hands is the best Lazers-esque he's ever made!
Dots and Lines takes us back to his great love songs like on his debut!
Madonna, T.R.O.N. & Prisoner 1 & 2 are some of his most engaging topics since The Cool!
The beats aren't sacrificed for awesome verses and song topics, and really go hand in hand well! ... read more
