I feel like this and 'THE OOZ' offer two paths of '6 Feet Beneath the Moon' - both are logical steps forward, but different elements of that album, so much so that this doesn't feel remarkably disparate from King Krule, but a natural progression in his art. Overall, super enjoyable. I could see it being pretty interesting if Archy ever fully returned to this side of his work. The beats were the standout part, often times very lo-fi and reminded me of something ... read more
it's strange to say that you've been sleeping on one of (if not) the GOATs of music OAT for SO LONG.
I'm sorry, Mr. Coltrane. Thank You.
loved the bangers, but wasn't as drawn to the slower songs, despite many of them still having some beauty in them! cool project!!!
I am probably alone on this, but I honestly prefer this significantly to its sister album. It feels like OG EUSEXUA, but weirder. Like, a lot weirder. Sometimes it sounds like Charli XCX doing DnB. The result is awesome. This might become my favorite Twigs album tbh. Suuuuper catchy. There are some weaker moments, however. "Love Crimes" is kinda just fine, run-of-the-mill Twigs to be honest. Luckily, tracks 2-5 make for a quick recovery. PinkPantheress's feature is tasteful; she ... read more
enjoyable little record!! shoutout my friend Colby for putting me on. great listen if u like LAMP.
i'll have to adapt to this one since Loveless got taken off streaming. Great record. Similar vibe to Loveless. No highs as high as its predecessor, but more consistent overall.
JID has the best flow. despite some occasional weaker cuts, this will undeniably remain one of the absolute best hip hop albums of the 2020s. absolutely killer record. the type of album you can listen to over and over again and never grow tired of.
absolutely stunning album from the (arguably) archetype of the performative male
describing the way this album sounds would be difficult to say the least. i don't even know what DG is doing here to be honest, but whatever the vibe is, I'm all for it lol. Also, unrelated, but I love this album cover a lot for some reason. sounds like how it looks.
astonishingly beautiful at night. it felt like the moon was watching me.
Good music is enjoyable in the moment; however, it's fleeting. Great music stays just as good after it travels some distance with us and remains unchanged in its beauty. But life-changing music, I think, is music that can manage to recontextualize itself and grow with us, an alteration of its meaning for us, where we are, right now. Crumbling is, for me, that life-changing music.
The moment 'Crumbling' recontextualized was last night when I was playing the video game ... read more
post-hardcore mood. perfect type of album for a late-night autumn walk. Maybe I missed the point, but I feel like 'For Your Entertainment' is the perfect ending to an album like this, since this is (in a good way) the musical equivalent of staring out of your window on some grey, cold, depressing fall day. You'll stay in and watch the wind blow the trees so hard that they bend to where they appear as though their limbs will break apart with the next huge gust. It's boring, ... read more
