This album actually far exceeded my expectations. Other than A-Punk, there wasn't really anything that I'd heard from them, and when that song was first released, I hated it. I somehow ended up loving pretty much everything on here.
However, there were some songs where Ezra Koenig's singing was somewhat irritating, namely Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa and especially One. Those songs in particular were difficult to listen to just because of his voice.
But for the rest of the album, he did a great job ... read more

I don't come back to this album as much as other Floyd records, but when I do listen to this, words cannot describe how much I love this.
I'm not going to lie, this album took some getting used to. Like Dark Side Of The Moon, my original rating was exaggerated. In fact, I at the time I disliked this more than Dark Side (which, like I said in my re-review for that album, was closer to a 60 than what I actually gave it). Now, I think that this is by far one of the best albums they've ... read more
Not trying to sound insensitive when I say this, but why is there still music coming from a dead guy? At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we get two more mixtapes with X's name on it before the end of the year.
Really, I found absolutely no enjoyment from this. Everything was just boring and sounded god-awful. I'm actually surprised I made it through to the end. There was nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that was good about this album. It was all terrible.

Issa 10.
This is one of the few albums that even on first listen I knew that it was going to get a perfect score eventually. At the time, I didn't give it the perfect score it deserved because I didn't (and still don't) want to just give out 100s to every album I love. But this album... this album is just something else.
Every time I listen to this record all the way through, I always try to find something that I don't like. I always try to find something to nitpick to justify this ... read more
This album is just okay. There's nothing special about it, but it was an enjoyable listen.
The first thing I'd like to mention is that Maggie has a great voice and the instrumentals, for the most part, were pretty good. I think that she has potential to make something truly great in the future. However, as far as this album goes, it's just a forgettable and, at times, boring listen. There's not really much else to say other than, for most of the album, it was fun.

I had never heard of Boogie before this album, but this album has convinced me to check out his earlier work.
Really, this was just a really enjoyable album that, although I may not come back to it too much in the future, was certainly worth the time.
The only complaint I have is that I felt that some songs were a bit too short and some of them ended a bit abruptly, whilst others were a bit too long and dragged on. Other than that, this is a really good album.

To be honest, I haven't heard much from Aesop Rock or Tobacco before listening to this album. However, this album was just so fun that it's convinced me to check out more of Aesop's (and possibly Tobacco's) solo work.
With that said, though, I don't usually like electronic beats. I didn't necessarily think it was bad here, I just didn't care for it. I thought that at times it was kinda distracting, but I didn't think it took away from the album or anything. I definitely think that Aesop ... read more

Yep, looking back at my older score, I was certainly too generous. I think I was just too scared at the time to have a differing opinion to the vast majority, especially with an album as highly praised as this. I say this because I like this a hell of a lot MORE than I did initially and I'm giving it five points lower than I did originally. Originally, my score was closer to a 60 than what I gave it.
After giving this well over twenty - yes, TWENTY - listens, I can definitely say ... read more
When I started this album, I was excited to listen to some new music. By the time the first track had finished, I was yawning and ready to climb into bed. This album is just so boring.
I would like to get one thing out of the way, and that is that James Blake has a great voice. However, that doesn't save this from being an absolute snooze-fest. With the exception of a couple of songs that I liked a lot, everything was just dull and making me want to turn it off. I came pretty close to doing ... read more
Remind Me Tomorrow is an extremely fun and entertaining release containing great vocals and instrumentation. I do think, however, that, other than a few incredible songs, this is a pretty forgettable album that I don't think I will be coming back to all that much. Despite that, I do think that the 41 minutes run time justifies giving it a listen.
The main complaint I have is that I feel like some of the best songs end too soon and, at points, abruptly, whereas other songs I do feel drag on a ... read more
By far their best work since Issues. Their sound has overall improved after their past couple of albums which, for the most part, were terrible to say the least. Not only that, but the album itself is much more enjoyable than most of their records after the aforementioned Issues. There's not really much else to say.
However, the only complain I have is that I feel like the album did drag on slightly. I ended up zoning out in the last three songs because I became so bored of one of them. Other ... read more
The return of Head as guitarist definitely help save the band. Really, I think he is probably the main reason why this album restored my faith in the band: it sounds a lot more like their earlier work, which is still, to this day, their best work.
However, although I did like the sound of this album, nothing really stood out to me like the others. Nothing sounded outright bad, but nothing sounded great, either. Overall, this was just an average album which probably saved Korn's ... read more
Korn, what the hell happened here?
This is the first time I genuinely don't even want to talk about an album. This is also the first time that I have actually hated a Korn album. I may have given them low scores in the past, but nothing compares to my levels of anger having listened to this album.
Korn is a band who I personally believe to be extremely talented. This album proved to me that they were willing to throw away all of that talent in order to go with a more dubstep sound, trying to ... read more
One day when I was a kid, my mother came home with a DVD. It was the movie version of Pink Floyd - The Wall, one of her favourite albums of her childhood. Neither me nor my dad were too into music at that point, we were more into movies which was why she had got it, so that we could all experience it together. It's funny because even though I was, and still am, a much bigger movie fan than I am a fan of music, the one thing that stuck with me from the movie was the music. Although I still ... read more
Since when was there a trilogy going on? And why is the 9th album the 3rd?
Korn III commits the worst sin music can make: boring the listener. This is the first time Korn has managed to make me completely bored and uninterested to see where the album is going. If one thing can be commended, it's that they were able to go nine albums before making something as boring as this.
It's a shame, really. There are a couple of pretty good ideas here, but it's brought down by the boring instrumentals and ... read more

To be honest, this is the only project from Tool that I haven't returned to since my initial review. While the title track is one that I've come back to quite a lot, the rest of the EP completely failed to convince me to return. I honestly disliked my first listen a lot more than I originally let on. Now that I've listened to it a second time, however, I do think I was a bit too harsh originally. This EP is actually a really good first effort that shows their potential, but it does ... read more

I've listened to this album almost as much as I have Ænima (which is a hell of a lot of times), and yet this is the only time in Tool's discography where my thoughts have barely even changed. Hell, my score has remained exactly the same as when I first rated this nearly six months ago.
Despite my rating remaining the same, I do feel like some songs grew on me a lot. The last couple - Intension and Right In Two - in particular are ones that I now love, when I originally by that ... read more

It's weird coming back and looking over old reviews where I was so dismissive of an album that I now play a lot.
Undertow, I feel, is like a sweet-spot between the aggressiveness of Opiate and the more experimental sound of Ænima. The anger from their previous EP, while it is toned down, is very much still present. With tracks like Intolerance, Crawl Away, Swamp Song, and Disgustipated, it's clear that at this point still Maynard has a ton of aggression that he needs to let ... read more
I'm somewhat conflicted on this album. On one hand there really wasn't much of quality here: other than a handful of songs, I thought they weren't all that interesting and at times boring. Yet at the same time, I have a hard time saying that I hated anything here. Although there wasn't much good here, there wasn't anything absolutely terrible.
To be honest, I feel like I would have to listen to this again to form a better opinion, yet I don't really want to. This is certainly not the worst ... read more
Another boring and god-awful Twenty One Pilots song with terrible vocal effects. The only good thing I can say about this song is that it's not the worst that they have put out, but still, it's terrible (as you can tell by my score).
