The recordings gathered by Vanessa Rossetto and Lionel Marchetti used to make this album exist in two forms: this album and The Tower (l'escalier en spirale). I prefer this version, though both are great listens. They arrange their source material in such a transfixing way--having great knowledge over when to place sudden changes in volume or how long to repeat certain recordings and the like. While I don’t have full insight into the making of music in this genre, I can still fully ... read more

My mom mentioned listening to 'high frequency meditation music' or whatever and this was the first thing I thought of, like a "maybe we're not so different after all..." moment from some dumb movie

I miss the Myspace-based quirky singer who made anthems for tumblr girls who even is this person

Shizuka's final live performance, released a few months after the titular singer took her own life. Unfortunately, as this is a video release, it often gets overlooked even among Shizukinnies (fandom name, it'll catch on) despite being on the same fantastic level as their other recordings. It ends in Shizuka repeatedly singing "la la la..." in a way that just echoes in my head forever.

From my rateyourmusic:

Most similar to 天界のペルソナ and 終りのない夢 from their discography, though not without its noisy moments in Maki's solos. Each song marches slowly into the next, Shizuka's pained singing as entrancing as ever.

Following the slow marches is the phenomenal 花冠--a rare upbeat Shizuka song. The way it opens is almost similar to the improvised section from 伝承美学's first half. Following that it becomes more of a 'banger' of a rock song. Great ... read more

Hey Mate,
Just wondering if you were able to contribute to a list by @CamDoesMusic and @truthfulreviews based upon your 10 favourite 90's albums. This would work through you messaging myself a list from 1 being the best and 10th being the 10th best album you have listened to from the 90's. If you are able to contribute with a quote summarising the particular album as well that would be awesome! Your information delivered to us will be used to create a list named "AOTY Users Favourite 90's Albums".

About

she/they

I've never listened to anything. I'm just very good at guessing what albums sound like.

scores will probably change a lot bc idk what im doing with 100 points instead of 10 (50-59 is decent, 60+ is recommended, 70+ is loved)

idk what i'm doing on here either
