I feel like this album is overrated and underrated at the same time. To me, this is Death's least heavy and least interesting album to listen to... but it's also a really big artistic leap for the band. It's more technical and has very different, more socially conscious lyrics that don't go for "shock value" as much as the first 2 albums.
Since I'm into a lot of 70s hard rock (Sabbath, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, etc.) I thought I'd love this, but I don't know, it's just not really clicking with me. Like, it's completely fine, just nothing I really wanna return to.

My favorite genres are progressive rock and hip-hop. I usually listen to albums more than once before rating them, or at least revisit some songs.
