Young Thug - So Much Fun
71

Blah blah blah it lives up to the name. If I listened to this album when the weather was somewhat decent I think it’d be generational. As it is now, I think it’s very well made. I even liked the MGK verse. That’s how you know thugger brought his A game.

Sickboyrari - City of Doves
86

While there are some songs here that really don’t stand out to me, the highlights go insanely hard. Black kray really is something special.

Sampha - Process
83

Sampha stands above the whole world with this album. Yet its beauty is subdued enough to truly thrive.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold as Love
81

Honestly wished it was longer and built up more of its great ideas. It’s still great I just wanted more of it.

clipping. - Dead Channel Sky
93

What an incredible album. Insane production chops and verses from daveed and all the features. All the singles grew on me a lot. They work so well in the context of this album. I’m so glad clipping is back. I missed them so much.

Missy Elliott - Supa Dupa Fly
81

Bangers on bangers with amazing rapping and boundary pushing production. A must-listen for anybody getting into rap music. Missy Elliot really is a once in a lifetime artist.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
84

For being over two hours long, this album held my interest all the way through. From the deep lyrical cuts to the fun instrumentation, it’s a classic for a reason. I’m so glad I finally checked it out.

Playboi Carti - MUSIC
69

I think this album comes so close to being something special. There are generational bangers on here. But that last third just drags on and on and on with no new interesting or catchy ideas. I’m open to the full package growing on me. But right now, I just feel slightly let down by a good, but not exceptional album.

Paramore - After Laughter
82

An album that’s both fun and lyrically dense. You truly do win both ways with it and I love it for that reason.

Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra - Promises
90

What a wonderful world we live in. This album is a phenomenal experience through and through. I’m so glad I finally took the plunge. I’ll definitely listen to more Floating Points in the future.

A$AP Mob - Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends
78

Some absolutely generational bangers on this tape. However, the duds stand out just as much.

Massive Attack - Blue Lines
88

A really impressive showing from the group. Feels innovative and unique without feeling compromised in its lyrical content. Filled with bangers.

Erykah Badu - Baduizm
86

This album really is something special. Just pure unbridled talent and beauty. Love it to death.

Dreamville - Revenge of the Dreamers III
75

I would have loved this album when it came out. But now, I just think it’s pretty good. Some highlights, some filler, and some good songs. I like it.

Lil Yachty - Lil Boat 2
71

A pretty good follow up that keeps the general good will and spirit of the immensely charming debut in tact.

SZA - Z
69

I think album comes really really close to being something special. That first song in particular really impressed me. However, the album does take a noticeable dip in quality. These songs just aren’t interesting to me from a production point of view. SZA also hasn’t developed any sort of vocal personality so all of these songs sound like Taylor Swift. I do like a lot of the ideas and features here, I just think the execution was pitiful.

AC/DC - Back in Black
35

It’s just kinda boring, dull, and stale. I respect this album but I would never actually listen to it in my free time. The vocals are really annoying and these songs all have the same overall sound and similar enough structure to really get under my skin.

Lalleshwari - Lullabies in a Glass Wilderness
87

This album is like if Björk was pushing even more boundaries in songwriting. It’s complete unfiltered artistry. It’s been on my radar for years. I’m so glad I gave it a chance.

KAYTRANADA - 99.9%
78

While I do think it’s very good and very catchy, I just think a lot of these songs sound too similar to truly fully get into it. I like them, I just can’t differentiate them other than their featured artist.

Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World
84

With everybody talking about how good imaginal disk is, it made me want to listen to this album. I heard so many great things about it but I never gave it a listen. I’m glad I did though. The vibe this album creates with its overall production and atmosphere is great. It put a big stupid smile on my face.
