Holy shit.

Now, this demands to be listened to in one sitting, and won't really work if you don't, but holy shit holy shit. Beautiful.

From the opening ambience of "Capture the Flag," the stage is set for one of the greatest rock records of all time. We explode into "KC Accidental" and find ourselves from then on in a dizzy adrenaline-rush stream of pure, unadulterated musical playfulness, with every song feeling forever as if it is being improvised on the spot, time and again. It's not jazz, but it has a similar giddy daring to it. This album feels like being young in your bedroom and believing the world ... read more

With the exception of several standout tracks - The Archer, The Man, Soon You'll Get Better, and the title track - "Lover" shows us a T Swift who is as juvenile as ever in her lyricism and still utterly oblivious to the importance of thoughtful track sequencing as a part of the form. The album drifts aimlessly from one sort-of-catchy-yet-instantly-forgettable tune to the next, ultimately going in one ear and out the other. Unfairly criticized as being a lesser achievement than Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, I think this is the greatest Phoenix album to date. It works perfectly as either its own thing or also as the counterpart to that previous record, as both run for the same number of tracks with an instrumental break in the middle. Listening to the two albums back to back shows them to compliment one another very nicely. As for what makes Bankrupt! better than its predecessor, it is more varied in its melodic ... read more

About
I review the musiks cause sometimes it makes me a happy boi. I love music which captures my heart and imagination. Whatever that looks like. All my opinions are just opinions even if I state 'em like facts.

For general reference, anything rated 90 or higher is a masterpiece in my mind. Between 60 and 89 is still good and enjoyable in some capacity, sometimes even great but not necessarily my among the "masterpieces;" while anything lower than 60 ranges from forgettable to downright terrible.
