Maybe just a touch bloated but all together some of the smokiest, most sensual, lowkey, and groovy rnb ever
Easily 2Pac's most explosive and banger filled album. The production on here is Amazing and leads to so many of the best most classic west coast tracks Ever. G-funk at it's absolute best. The issue with the album comes from its Intense length and the classic rapper inability to self edit. For each amazing track there's one I barely remember. So its really a highs and lows situation but the highlights do shine through.
A pretty great album straight up. Beyond that I don't have much more to say. It has many highlights and great rapping and production. In the greater canon of hip hop it's not one of my absolute favorites I admit but Instill think it's great.
A very solid sophomore effort with many more highlights from his first.
A few good tracks but nothing special. When Jay Z isn't doing his absolute best I lose interest very quickly.
Some pretty fun, cute, and nicely instrumented Jpop. Very sweet and some actually solid tunes. Not much more than that. Not a whole lot of bite, just pretty lighlyy sweet and feel good.
A solid debut with multiple standouts. But just too chilled out and lowkey for my taste. They would go on to perfect the formula of groove with bump immensely.
More commercial and boring, I have to be honest. Sorry to my friend who listened to Cat People like every day for a month
Despite being a past what you could call his golden period Bowie was still able to follow up two incredible records with a Third amazing record. And once again he out does himself by having some of his most explosive and emotionally palpable moments ever so many albums into his career. The vocals on Heroes are heart wrenching, Blackout is a banger, and once again he throws convention to the wind and makes the entire second half ambient instrumentals. And songs like Moss Garden do not disappoint ... read more
Just stopping the "Bowie" part and going into straight ambient/instrumental/electronic on the back half may be the coolest thing any rock musician has ever done on an album. I'm not fucking joking.
Still processing this one to be honest, even after multiple multiple listens. It just feels extensive and has this edge of darkness despite having all the sound of piano and art rock. A standout in Bowie's discog for sure in terms of creativity, sound, and ambition.
Solid, but somewhat on the safe side for Bowie. He was just a great artist who knew how to write and compose a good song. It doesn't do a ton for me tho.
Solid, and has it's share of highlights, but certainly pales a bit compared to his others of this era
How do you follow up Ziggy Stardust? With one of the most explosive glam records ever. This thing packs a punch that allows it to stand it's own Strongly in Bowie's catalogue during an era where so much of the focus is on his other records. It even has a solid touch of noise for 1973
It's not a particularly impressive effort we can be honest with ourselves about that.
Cacophony never sounded so good. Whether it's weird rhythmic bangers of waves of industrial noise this project goes crazy. Feeling very inspired from this one. Super curious to get an idea of the variety of field recordings they used for some of the last tracks.
Pretty much just pure fun and not trying to be anything it shouldn't be. Clearly has a very strong "white-boy-meme rap" vibe but unlike other garbage that fits into that category there is a clear and genuine love of hip hop. They aren't trying to make hip hop and the idea of braggadocios rap into a joke made by frat guys who only listen to trap radio radio hits. The Danny Brown feat seal of approval attests to that. Besides that the production and energy are top notch. The ... read more
