Listening to a ton of nas albums in anticipation for light years: Hip hop is dead
I like what nas talks about on here, the critiques on commercialism and lack of creative control in the genre at the time, rather than something like what Jay-Z would do in D.O.A.
This album still results in a mixed bag. The title track is fantastic, black republican and still dreaming are some of my favourite rap songs of all time. A few stinkers like "who killed it" (the voice he does is kinda funny ... read more
michael jacksons bad is not a better album than thriller... but i honestly prefer it.
i hear the boos and the jeers already but im gonna be honest i feel the highs on here are SLIGHTLY higher than on thriller due to the innovative production choices. i feel that Bad features quincy's best work with instrumentals like leave me alone (ik, a bonus track but let me have this), the addicting and aggressive bass line on smooth criminal, the atmospheric production on dirty diana with, the ... read more
No.
I like rage music, its become a frequent subgenre for me to go back to. Even at that i love the more distorted and off the wall/industrial rage sound.
This is too far. Its not even the production thats the problem for me, its 2slimey himself
Lets get the positives out the way...
Champagne poetry is fantastic. A beatiful beat and drake brings his best to it. Honestly tied with tuscan leather as my favourite drake intro. 7am on bridle path is a fantastic title track and the features are pretty solid all around...
Everything else is awful and sleepy as fuck
A revisit is in order cause i hate the original review. All imma say is this album has nevet left rotation and has actually gotten better. It's gonna go down as a classic
this was and is my aoty and possibly album of the decade. every single verse, feature, instrumental fucking HITS. im not gonna sound like a broken record so im gonna keep it brief but im disgusted with how good this album is and am praying it wins the grammy for rap aoty at the VERY least. clipse remains having one of my ... read more
A weird choice for a single because its so much better within the album
Monster is future's best project, yet despite that i always forget just how good it is. i mean, you get futures best trap bangers which you expect from a future project, but this mixtape also sees future heartbroken and vulnerable. this is not just futures best project, its the best trap mixtape of all time
has some of my favourite kanye songs and is probably his most... manic sounding? (as i type that, i realise it's in the tags)
there are skips, namely im not a fan of freestyle 4 or pt 2 (especially considering that is JUST panda by designer) but apart from that this album is immaculate. saint pablo and ultralight beam particularly being top 5 kanye
The best produced rap album of all time. The beats on here are actually disgusting
I fucking hate lemon demon so much. His fanbase is annoying as fuck and i cant stand his voice. His songwriting is also super annoying i am a lemon demon hater at heart and have made it clear to the people i've discussed music with...
But the Production here is actually really solid...
The singing isnt bad either i guess...
And the songwriting isnt annoying theatre kid bullshit...
Oh my god there's no way i actually like this album
Recovery era eminem type beat...
And song...
But yk what this isnt all that bad. The music video isnt bad, the chorus is kinda catchy and the verses are pretty corny at points but every so often adam hits a pretty decent pocket in terms of rapping. Its clearly pretty heartfelt and suprisingly enough doesnt feel forced. As much as i kinda poked fun at the beat earlier its actually pretty solid, it progresses in a satisfying way and the drums are pretty clean in the way that it builds up.

i view this album and ye as a 2 disc double album in many ways, but this is the better half of that hypothetical double album. ye being an album about kanyes lows and on kids see ghosts we see a duo of artists who have a history of mental health problems and making music out of these and in KSG we see these artists triumph over their struggles and make something beautiful out of it. some of kanyes best production (which is obviously NO small feat) on songs like the title track, fire, 4th ... read more
i dont love this album, but i cant help but feel like a lot of yall were a tad too harsh on it. theres some great stuff and its nice hearing uzi experiment and create some of my favourite stuff i've heard from them. no i dont think this is as good as their 2016-2020 run because those are all fantastic but I find it ridiculous that this is where people started to say that uzi was falling off. EA was fantastic and this has some great stuff like suicide doors, flooded the face, x2, amped, ... read more
a great album. you all know its great and you dont need anyone TELLING you its great. but just barely off from perfect and not his best album. (off the wall>>>)
