Personally a fan of the singing. The songwriting is good indie rock, it does tend to run into itself a little bit but doesn't get boring like I've heard other albums become. Feel the Pain and Get Out of This are bangers.
Insanely innovative and a great live act, Squid's debut album is an absolute masterwork. Using so many techniques and textures, it would seem that they would have a hard time letting everything breathe. But Ollie Judge and co. pull it off in spectacular fashion. Combining synths and horns fantastically on Boy Racers with Judge's manic vocals to cap it off, it's only a taste of the energy that Squid bring. Highlights on the album for me are GSK, Peel St., and Pamphlets
THIS is the hardcore record we've been waiting for. Absolutely wipes the floor with Glow On.
Instrumentally creating a noisy mesh which lead singer Katie Ball floats upon, Just Mustard’s second album avoids all the pitfalls a sophomore album might fall into. The band tweaks the sound from their first record in small ways, but enough to create a fuller sound and really show off what they can do. The dark atmospheres they create don’t feel oppressive, but freeing in a way; a way for the listener to let go, to float in the murky waters.
Solid. Gets a little bit monotonous at times, but overall sounds really good. Reminds me a lot of Sonic Youth, especially the song lochness, and the vocal sharing. Kinda sounds like Kim Gordon a little too.

However, if someone is not, or doesn't like that kind of music, this album won't appeal to them. For me, however, the instrumentals are incredibly soothing and the vocals provide some great texture. Being used sparingly, when they come in they add a great layer to the songs, and when they are gone the instrumentals feel ... read more
Absolute banger and a fantastic intro to the album. Wasn't a huge fan of Cavalcade, but love Schlag, and this single makes me very excited for Hellfire.
This was a nice album. It didn't do anything that amazed me, but it was enjoyable throughout. The stand out songs to me were Burglar and Childish Things. I really liked the sound of the drums on Childish Things, they sounded very "live" if that makes sense, like they were being played in the same room as me.
All the ideas from dogrel and a hero's death are taken, polished to a mirror shine, and pulled tighter than a victorian corset. fantastic.
it's got kind of a joy division bassline and kinda slowdive-y guitars. banger.
