I can't believe "No Time To Die" was forgotten that fast. It's actually very good. It has this typical Billie soft sound and voice but omg then sis was like "y'all be pissing me off here's what I can do" and she did that! The proof she can do something else than "whispering" as so many like to say, also the live performance at the grammy with Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr (as well as FINNEAS ofc) is something else, she has the talent, now stop trying to tear her ... read more
One of the best girl in red's song hands down, it has something so special about it and dude it's so great omg. It's also one of the very first time we're getting a higher quality sound and get to hear a voice in another way. And the lyrics are also so good (even tho I totally can't relate to it #gaystruggle).
If you loved "Care" then you will love this as well and if you didn't well you will like this more (I hope). If you go for the full version you first get to hear a 30sec intro of bea getting ready to play the song. Then unlike its predecessor, it starts as a very soft and slow thing (even tho the bpm is literally if 158 apparently). Then around half of the song, it gets heavier with a sound closer to "Care". I personally love her vocals on the chorus and how her soft voice ... read more
"Care" is the first single from beabadoobee's upcoming debut album and get us ready to what we will hear in the future. It reminds me of her latest ep 'Space Cadet' with the rock vibe and I love the energy it has. It starts in a fast forward way and we get straight to the real fun (it's a pleasure to play on guitar omg). The homemade M/V made with help from her boyfriend (Soren) during quarantine is also really worth it.
'Chewing Cotton Wool' is a beautiful piece of work signed Amber Haird, it is very her and feels so great.
From the first track "Sharing Beds", I knew what I was about to live, a great musical experience, as usual with her and it didn't miss.
Then I can't say it's anything unexpected from her as the sound is close to what we hear in 'Good At Falling' (mostly "Something Has To Change" which happens to be my fav) but still "Dionne" brings something new to the table ... read more
Maya Hawke who is more known for being Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke's daughter as well as for her role in 'Strangers Things' made a nice album filled with sweet love songs.
There's always a great guitar to come along with her and I really appreciate the drums used in the whole album.
There's mostly very soft songs here such as it's opening track "Generous Heart", "Hold the Sun" or "River Like You" and of course the last song "Mirth". But also songs with ... read more
Perfume Genius' 'Set My Heart on Fire Immediately' is a calm and powerful album with some more energetic tracks such as "Without You" and "On the Floor" or ' "Nothing at All" and songs that make me want to lay down and overthink everything about my life like "Some Dream.
From time to time there are songs with a dark tone like the lead single "Describe" and "Your Body Changes Everything" but even there it's not that depressing.
I like the ... read more
This EP isn't their best work but it's still a good piece of work, reflecting who they are quite well.
'[#]' start with a nice intro but there's nothing too special to it.
"So What" is catchy but the heavy edm bass feels like a lot of other kpop group's songs and lacks originality. It's not very LOONA and that could have been nice in the way that it changes from what they usually do but here it just sounds like a lot of songs we're used to hearing. It can work because that's what ... read more
For (G)I-DLE debut Mini Album we discover a nice project, nothing too good but not bad either, it has it's up and down and does a good job at introducing us to the group (I actually listened to 'I trust' a few weeks before this album so it's not really an introduction to them for me but it's still its role).
"The title track "LATATA" isn't a song I liked at the first listen (mostly the pre-chorus) but it's fine now. Then I like instrumental of the drop but not the vocals melody ... read more
Dystopia: Lose Myself' start off with a strong intro just like the previous album that set the tones of the rest of the EP.
Now the real fun begging, "BOCA" is good rock song like DREAMCATCHER know how to make, I love the pro-chorus' melody and the vocals from sUa, Yoohyeon and Siyeon. Gahyeon rap verse fits the song very well and it's just a very typical DREAMCATCHER rock title track overall.
"Break The Wall" starts of with heavily saturated vocals which bring something ... read more
With ITZY's 4th EP we are both getting the classic ITZY music style and finish with a new sound that we're less used to get from them.
We start with the title track "Not Shy" which is a straight forward intro to the ep and keep a basic kpop structure. I liked the vocals and the prod is fine to me and does well at making this a catchy song with lyrics that are kind of basic but manage to still be entertaining and them shouting "ITZYYYYY" from time to time is really fun ... read more
I really like 'Don't Forget About Me, Demos' because I felt like he came up with something new, it felt raw and it was great. Here you would expect something similar but more polished but you end up with 2mins songs that feel incomplete. I still enjoy the production as well as his vocals (just the same way I enjoyed the same production and vocals on his 2018 EP), I expected something better. Also what's up about some of these lyrics, I feel like some don't really fit together and kind of lost ... read more
Overall I quite like it but it feels like something is missing and I don't know what exactly, maybe a lack of cohesion between the songs.
'color theory' feels like a breeze of fresh air in the morning in the best way possible or a walk in nature in the morning. I love it so much
This album is full of energy, emotions, love, sadness and more and it's making me feel all these feelings as if it was me living them. It sounds amazing and I love Dana's voice a lot. Another thing I adore about this album is how you can have SO MUCH going on, loud and fast and then the calm right after. I am in love with the way this album makes me feel. Thank you.
I do think this album was made in a post apocalyptic world where humans now live through a robot body (or literally anything) controlled at distance with their brains and with AI assistance.
The production amazes me, it's so good.
What's Your Pleasure? is a very feel-good album with a disco vibe of quality.
Why did they feel the need to do that for real? They took what's popular at the moment and tried to turn it into something cool, to try to be what they used to be but it's too late, they failed and it turned in some bad mess.
I don't know what I expected but this was better than anything I could have expected. When I first listened I was wondering if I would keep on listening to it, even if I absolutely loved it, and yes I still do and still enjoy it as much. The album feels personal and natural and it is definitely a must!
