I don't think I've listened to a Hip Hop album in which the flow and beat work so well together to create a marriage of banger beats and powerful raps that stays consistent for its entire 1 hour and 6 minute runtime.
It perfectly captures the idea of love in all its facets. Its intimate yet doesn't feel provocative on the surface. It is an exploration of romantic emotion further enhanced by the beautiful chorus of string instruments, harps, pads, and percussive ear candy. Its a beautiful & ethereal artistic view of Bjork's idea of what love is.
I would rather lie and say I've never listened to this than lie and say I find it a masterpiece just to get laid.
Some people love escargot, pineapple on pizza, raw oysters, beef tartare, organ meat, brussel sprouts, olives, anchovies, sushi, etc. others absolutely DESPISE them and avoid those like their life would end in contact of it. However, I quite enjoy the quirkiness of Alex Turner's songwriting, singing, and musicianship. It's one of those polarizing albums in which people have quite a mixed opinion on. Personally, I find it quite charming and replayable and an all time favorite for me.
I look up to porter since he makes electronic music gut-wrenchingly emotional.
There's nothing I hate about this album. The songwriting is some of the best ever, production makes things intense (except you Ringo ruining the vibe a little), the emotion just pops out. Its truly flawless. I would've hoped the overall flow would be better since the album does sound all over the place.
I yearn to be in nature amongst god's creations as my ears perk in reaction to the pretty, pretty soundwaves.
The themes straight up stand to the test of time not to mention it makes you feel badass listening.
Tremendously flawless record. This is what's mastery's all about.
Trip Hop is so hard to define, but it literally combines the best parts of different genres together to create something profound. There's always a notion that you can't sing on a hip hop beat or electronic music to sound emotional, but this record and Massive Attack as a whole takes that and throws it out the window. This may not be the first record to do this as people get experimental all the time, but the sheer ... read more
I thought the songwriting is very strong and touching at times. However, the production sounds dated and boring.
If I had a dime for every time I sing a random song from this album throughout my day, I could buy this in Vinyl.
The song writing and Joni Mitchell's singing voice makes this a very comforting listen.
I’ve never been to Illinois, but the storytelling made me feel like I’ve spent a lifetime there.
