Radiohead Discography Dive 7/9
In Rainbows is the explosion of Radiohead's music. They take every aspect of both their futuristic, sleek sound and simple but powerful lyrics and build them to create mind-blowing songs. This album is extremely simple to understand, especially in the realm of AOTY-core.
Gushing over this album is pointless, by now people most likely have a locked in opinion on this album. I however firmly believe that In Rainbows is just simply magic.

I'm standing on business this time, Hail to the Thief is super underrated, and deserves to be in the 'big 3' Radiohead albums so much more than Kid A.
One of the few flaws I can downright pin on this album is the small pool of let downs in the track list, The Gloaming and A Punch Up at a Wedding are far from my favourite songs of theirs. That is excusable by the highlights on this which make up a majority of this record and confuses me why this isn't as beloved ... read more
Radiohead Discography Dive 5/9
Wow, I actually did not expect this to be so amazing after all the joke reviews.
What I thought was an obvious statement out first, this album is absolutely not a B-Side of Kid A. Kid A sounded futuristic and the confusing brightness that the future brings. This album is rough and grainy having a dark nostalgic feel, almost like unveiling a time capsule of a worse time. Not only do I think that this theme is much more interesting, but the songs themselves sound ... read more
Radiohead Discography Dive 4/9
I woke up sucking a lemon
I think in terms of experimentation, this album is Radiohead's most sonically unique, the electronic overly processed songs mixed with acoustic guitar is unlike most others in their catalog. I have to be completely up front and say that this album is lost on me for the most part. It sounds great, and I much prefer it to the bends, but compare to the other 2 of Radiohead's 'big 3' albums I just don't find this on the same level ... read more
Radiohead Discography Dive 3/9
Now this I FULLY understand. OK Computer is a dive of non-stop iconic tracks, all of which with such simplistic yet impactful messaging. From politics to the reasoning of revenge, in terms of the lyrical thoughts on this record it is second to few.
The production on this is an absurd step up from The Bends with every song ranging from pleasing on the ears to energic bangers. one of my only flaws with this record is some of these tracks are slightly weaker than ... read more
Radiohead Discography Dive 2/9
The Bends is a far improvement from their previous, embracing a new sound and a much more serious tone.
This album does have a great attribute which is it's consistency, even in the later tracks it doesn't really lose interest outside of the occasional misstep. This album is more focused on alt rock than their past grunge record, this sound would soon be synonymous with Radiohead and although it's not fully discovered on this, it sounds already great with Thom's ... read more
Radiohead Discography Dive 1/9
Of course Radiohead was a must for this series, Pablo Honey needs no introduction, it is THE Radiohead meme album and a quick glance at the track list ratings will tell you more than anything I can put in words. This album really does feel like 3 tracks which really is not the best introduction for your debut.
I am of the firm belief that just because a group is not innovative does not make them 'bad', Pablo Honey is just painfully derivative though with the ... read more

I've never been more proud of white culture π£οΈ
Take every minor problem with For the first time, solve it, and make every track as gorgeous as Track X. Ants from up there was released only days after the lead vocalist resigned from the band and my god what a way to say goodbye. If anything the context of the singer leaving makes this only 10x more impactful.
This album is such a symphony of emotion that I can't help but come out of the experience happy ... read more

YOU FOOLS, I ASKED FOR RECOMMENDATIONS ONLY TO LISTEN TO MY OWN MUSIC MWAHAHAH.
BCNR comes in and quite honestly disrupts the whole post-punk scene with this LP, which is a milestone and a half for how massive of an umbrella genre it is. It's almost funny how many parallels to this group are made to new releases and it's even funnier how it could in all actuality be true to a degree. It's only been 3 years since this records release and it's influence has been ... read more
The Weeknd Discography Dive 8/8
Although this is not nearly as ground breaking as the previous record, Dawn FM creates a cold, freezing spotlight in contrast to After Hours' dank brightness.
This album doubles down on the 80's synth which honestly just transports you at parts with some great in your face production.
This album is in a similar fashion to Starboy in that it is super front heavy in terms of quality. The feature from Tyler was out of place but passable, Lil Wayne's feature was ... read more
The Weeknd Discography Dive 7/8
With the great idea of starboy, The Weeknd was one step away from unlocking his best album. Instead, Abel decides to reinvision himself entirely, creating an album that can best be described as a dank, nostalgic, synthpop/r&b soundscape.
(Sad that 2013 Internet Ruined the word dank because I honestly cooked with that description)
After Hours is the persona of the weeknd breaking, leaving Abel to the madness trying make sense of everything. It's a ... read more
The Weeknd Discography Dive 5/8
Where as last time his album was without a direction, this LP is The Weeknd taking a crack at mainstream Pop/R&B Fusion. The result is an album that has insufferable lows and entertaining highs, but overall a far more interesting album than the last.
The Weeknd has gotten significantly better at the 'catchy' part of his music, even though Losers isn't the best song example for his music improving in general, the melody and intro verse are undeniably an ... read more

After ending my last review asking for more experimentation, being met with an electro-pop jammer ft. Daft Punk on the intro was a great sign. Little did I know the unbelievable rollercoaster this album is...
But first, the positives. The instrumentals are CRUNCHY, songs like Rockin' and False Alarm are made by their instrumentals which I find so ironic for an artist who has been primarily vocals based until this point. Even on the worst songs, the beats are ... read more

π₯± Sorry, we're at the debut commercial LP and boy has everything remotely interesting or innovative been instantly discarded from existence. The beats? Monotone and somehow even simpler. Theme? Aimless. Lyrics? AI Generatable. I mean, even the cover is a massive downgrade, what even happened here?
This album is such an emotionless mess on my ... read more
The Weeknd Discography Dive 3/8
Am I crazy to say this is better than house of balloons? The production is far more entertaining as a whole and fits him far more. Making way for his incredible voice when needed while not outright bleaching it like on 'Thursday'. You also have some new vocal effects on songs like Initiation, which is done really well to make him feel like the voice of untrusted comfort during a bad trip.
Abel sounds so much more like the 'bad boy party animal with an obvious ... read more
The Weeknd Discography Dive 2/8
In my mind this is honestly House of Balloons but just significantly more boring, a majority of this track list is forgettable which isn't helped by their individual length. Songs like Thursday are borderline obnoxious with Abel practically singing the exact song but stacked 3 times over.
This Album feels like background music in it's purest form. It sounds good... It's just empty, there's no reason to listen other than to put it on for the sake of his voice ... read more

I came in this blind off the request of @Salami504 this is a surprisingly great mixtape that honestly set an impressive atmosphere for being a debut.
The songs themselves are meh to alright but his voice and the eeriness of it all really improves the whole thing massively. My thoughts on this mixtape is a fine overall showing with highlights that GLOW, High For This and Wicked Games are phenomenal and stand out hugely in this track list.

JID Discography Dive 3/3
I personally waited 3 years for this album after getting into him a bit after DiCaprio 2. When it was announced that he was taking a way more serious tonality I was a bit uncertain because his whole gimmick until this was flying words off the tongue at the same speed the listener can process.
Anything and everything I said about the production in the past 2 albums is instantaneously solved on the first track ALONE. Raydar, being 3 beats seamlessly combined, each of ... read more

Going into a random discography and hearing "DJ DRAMA!!" halfway in the album woke me up from the matrix.
Okay, this is him FAR more comfortable on an LP.
JID comes in swinging with Slick Talk all the way to Off Da Zoinky he does not give out on the energy. He sounds much more in place for these beats, which honestly did improve, songs like Off Da Zoinkys and Skrawberries show some great production growth. Just not in the degree I think he deserves because ... read more
