PVA - BLUSH
80

wait this is super cool

Arctic Monkeys - The Car
61

Impressively boring

Dry Cleaning - Stumpwork
65

I think their debut worked a lot better because her voice fell far less front and center. It felt way better when it fades into the background and lets the music lead the way

Gilla Band - Most Normal
60

Not everything is is for everyone. and that's ok

Carly Rae Jepsen - The Loneliest Time
84

Not quite the bangers of her previous work but enjoying the chiller CRJ. Has potential to be a grower

Edit: As predicted, it's a grower

Taylor Swift - Midnights
69

Listening to a Tswift album is kinda like playing the 10th game in a video game series. Sure you can listen and enjoy the pleasant enough music, but to REALLY appreciate it you need to have listened to all the other albums about it then spent years on the Reddit then watched a 5 hour series to fully understand the whole lore of it all. It’s pleasant, but if you’re not a true swiftie, I don’t see much here that stands out

Bill Callahan - YTI⅃AƎЯ
75

It's a Bill Callahan album, so you know it'll be at least decent.

Rachika Nayar - Heaven Come Crashing
86

This is enchanting. Reminiscent of old Sigur Ros.Had no clue who this dude is but damn is it pretty

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava
81

One of their better ones, although admittedly I can't keep up

Alvvays - Blue Rev
80

I really liked their debut but not much since, which is apparently the wrong take. I don’t know what to say. It just blends into the background for me

Edit: Ignore everything I previously said

Editors - EBM
69

Is it just me or does the singer sound completely different than he used to? Like with the exception of Silence it sounds like a different dude

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Cool It Down
78

a pretty great return. Far more than I expected

The Tallest Man on Earth - Too Late for Edelweiss
69

pleasant little covers album I'll almost certainly never listen to again

Courting - Guitar Music
86

British post-punk has just been carrying music for the last 5 years

Maya Hawke - MOSS
65

I don’t know dude. Her debut had some pretty nice folk songs but this is not that. It’s flowery watered down guitar music. Pleasant I suppose. But not what I was hoping for

Nikki Lane - Denim & Diamonds
77

I think her best record yet

Death Cab for Cutie - Asphalt Meadows
77

I don't know what I expected from a Death Cab album in 2022, but this feels like the best case scenario. It's got some really good songs, particularly on the back half.

Alex G - God Save the Animals
74

Up and down for me tbh. Not sure how I feel about the autotune

The Beths - Expert In A Dying Field
83

The Beths are masters in making songs sound simultaneously fresh and comfortingly familiar
