Moonshake - Eva Luna

UNDERATED AS HELL!!!!! This was an album I learned about from the book Fearless, which is a great read that helps explain the history of post-rock, and I don't regret checking this out. It tries so many different ideas and genre fusions, and has a lot of bite and aggression that I don't normally hear from post-rock.

Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come

Very forward thinking punk album, I did NOT expect the electronic elements between tracks.

IDLES - Joy as an Act of Resistance.

That was a VERY quick 42 minutes, super fun and raucous post-punk shenaniganery

Knocked Loose - Hive Mind
85

theres no fucking way

Swans - Filth

I need this shit injected into my blood stream

Boris - Pink
75

If i had a nickel for every great noise rock album I've heard where my favorite song off of it is named "blackout", I'd have two nickels! (filth and pink)

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone

Bro just ONE more fuzz pedal please bro it'll make the guitar tone SO GOOD bro-

Mount Eerie - Dawn

You all don't understand what I would do for an album of Phil Elverum covering Bjork

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
85

Oh how I love music that could kill a victorian child

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
85

I expected weirder, but I'm not at all disappointed with what I got. This is a great collection of Abstract hip-hop songs, that overall has a very one-of-a-kind sound. Still really excited to see what By Storm will do.

Sade - Love Deluxe

45 minutes of the most elegant, smooth, and gorgeous soul I've ever heard. Do yourself a favor, and listen to this album during a sleepless night. Hopefully you'll be as hypnotized as I was listening to this.

Sade - Diamond Life

The word soothing was made to describe this album. The production is clean as hell, which complements the super tight and hypnotizing performances. Of course Sade is the star though, these are some of the best vocals on ANY ALBUM IVE EVER HEARD! She has such a signature singing style and writes songs that match her voice super well.

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory

An album that has been with me for so long, yet its really hard to describe why I love it. I just start listening, bob my head to the great old school jazz-rap grooves for 48 minutes, and leave the album feeling like a burden has been lifted off my back

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!
85

These guys just casually make some of the best rock music ever and call themselves "God's Pee" i love this band so much

75

I need more jazz-fusion flying lotus, this was filled with so many different creative ideas that all creates a weird 38 minute jazz fusion journey. This album has like 3 albums rolled into it, its truly wild

Flying Lotus - Pattern+Grid World
55

Hello, I'd like to play that song again!

Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
90

This album was released over a decade ago, which is INSANE! All of the songs still sound so forward thinking and futuristic, its like a crowded metropolis filled with motion and life. The album sounds amazing too, its so crunchy and compressed by the end I feel like my brain has been very aggressively scrubbed with hot soapy water. Insane textures, good balance between cohesion and variety, a great sense of groove, this is pretty much every thing I hoped this album was and more!
