Danny Brown - Ain't It Funny
100

My personal favorite hip-hop song of all time at least the one that comes to mind first when asked that question

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
95

I LOVE YOU JESUS CHRIST!

I love this album a lot, but if this is like the worst album of all time for you, I understand because of the three Cs I’ve coined because I’m so creative: Christian, cringey, & conservative, plus the production being really fuzzy and lo-fi, as well as Jeff Magnum sounding like a chronic crack-addict homeless smoker. Personally, none of those stop me from enjoying it. In fact, I love Jeff’s vocals — so freaking unique and honestly technical. ... read more

J. Cole - The Fall-Off

THE FALL OFF IS FINALLY HERE!

Disc 1:

Writing this as I’m listening to the album, and I gotta say so far I’m definitely enjoying it much more than his other records. Although I do think it’s pretty inconsistent, J. Cole has consistently gotten better and better lyrically ever since 2021, and this is his best project to date in my opinion. Safety is the first true highlight for me. It’s probably my all-time favorite J. Cole track — lyrically it’s solid as ... read more

Metro Boomin - Ric Flair Drip

Probably my favorite trap song period

The Beatles - Rubber Soul

It seems I'm not thinking for myself, because this album is genuinely a 10/10.

Favorite Track: Nowhere Man

Least Favorite Track: What Goes On

Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home
93

Did motherfuckers in the 60s get offended Bob Dylan turned electric or something 💀

I love how one of the tags is "Hip-Hop"

Favorite Track: Bob Dylan's 115th Dream

Least Favorite Track: N/A (There's really not a dip in quality anywhere, its all amazing.)

Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
96

Possibly the best Jazz album of all time.

Favorite Track: Mode D – Trio and Group Dancers (Stop! Look! And Sing Songs of Revolutions!) / Mode E – Single Solos and Group Dance (Saint and Sinner Join in Merriment on Battle Front) / Mode F – Group and Solo Dance (Of Love, Pain, and Passioned Revolt, Then Farewell, My Beloved, 'Til It's Freedom Day)

Least Favorite Track: Track A – Solo Dancer (Stop! Look! And Listen, Sinner Jim Whitney!)

History: 95-100

Max Roach - It's Time
100

Surprised this isn’t in the top 500 albums of all time.

It feels like a mix of Out to Lunch by Eric Dolphy, The Inner Mounting Flame by Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Bitches Brew by Miles Davis. It has that wild, chaotic energy, but it never feels random — there’s enough structure to keep you locked in the whole time. The music is already bold, and the vocal segments push it even further, adding a layer that makes the album feel really unique. If that sounds interesting at all, ... read more

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
82

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS.

For some reason, I thought this would just be some sad, melancholic singer-songwriter record, but instead it’s this avant-garde, Disney-villain-sounding mf-er ranting about weird shit for 53 minutes. I want to give this a 10/10, but also a 4/10, but I’ll settle on an 82 for now. This is definitely a record that gets better with more listens.

Favorite Track: Tango Till They’re Sore
Least Favorite Track: 9th and Hennepin

Wire - Pink Flag
87

Another Fantano 10/10 added 1 week ago

Favorite Track: Pink Flag/Ex Lion Tamer

Least Favorite Track: Surgeon's Girl

Lightning Bolt - Hypermagic Mountain
100

Classic scaring the hoes record. Also one of my favorite albums of all time.

Favorite Track: 5 Way Tie between Captain Caveman, Birdy, Mega Ghost, Dead Cowboy, & Bizarro Zarro Land

Least Favorite Track: Infinity Farm

100

Kurt had such a knack for writing hooks — genuinely the Eminem of rock.

Total fucking classic. This album really grew on me a lot. Writing a review for one of the most popular and critically acclaimed albums ever made almost feels pointless, like everything that could be said has already been said a billion times before. But to keep it "short:" I love Kurt’s vocals. Even if they’re not the most technical in the world, they work perfectly here. The writing and ... read more

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost

Legitimate post-rap

Harry Styles - As It Was
86

Super big guilty pleasure song I've always loved this track such an ear worm but in a good way

Cardi B - Invasion of Privacy

Favorite Track: Be Careful

Least Favorite Track: She Bad

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O.

Yanqui is definitely on par with, or even better than, Lift Your Skinny Fists for me.

Favorite Track: motherfucker=redeemer

Least Favorite Track: 09-15-00 (cont.)

DaBaby - BE MORE GRATEFUL

Am i a stuck-up oldhead? I feel like i haven't any new trap album from the past like 3 years.

Favorite Track: CLEAR THIS SHIT

Least Favorite Track: POP DAT THANG

Don Toliver - OCTANE
45

Eh I just think Don Toliver's voice is obnoxious (as a Danny Brown & Kendrick fan) so I was always gonna have a bias against this

Favorite Track: N/A
Least Favorite Track: Tuition

DMX - It's Dark and Hell Is Hot

"I love how the comment right under this is praising Olivia. Also you have to understand Olivia isn't really taking herself too seriously. I think she's relatively self-aware that she's just making music for a melancholic teenage audience you don't have to like it because of that but try to be more nuanced."

"@disidoroo Sorry for responding like a month later 😶, but I don’t really see how that’s the case. Once again, “Heartbreaker” is on this thing, and that riff can rival pretty much every song in their discography in that department — “When the Levee Breaks,” “The Rover,” etc. “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “The Lemon Song,” and “Whole Lotta Love” are pretty rockin’ as well. Even “Moby Dick,” the instrumental track, opens with a sick riff. I don’t really get this take. Sure, it’s not as lyrically sharp, but that’s a completely different argument. To be honest, I’d argue Led Zeppelin IV is way more tame by comparison"
