The amount of detail in these songs is actually crazy. This doesn't feel remotely close to 70 minutes, the sequencing is actually brilliant. It's frontloaded and my least favorite songs are the last 2, but it's still incredible what they manage to do here.
Favorites: 1-6
Track 1: Both halves are incredible. 11
Track 2: I could write an essay on this song, but I love the part where all the crazy stuff drops out and the stuttering ambient synth is heard. It feels like I'm in ... read more
These songs are structured where they are 4 or 5 different sections per song without much repetition, and I loved some sections, but it makes the songs really hard to differentiate when listening as a full album. Every time a song started I would love it, but by the end I was tired of it. Highlights are for sure the vocals and the guitars. The vocalist has so much variety, and the guitars are just consistently heavy and awesome. I thought the drums sounded great but the drummer was sloppy at ... read more
This is just peak vibe music. Love the sound of these guitars, and the drumming is fantastic. Overall an excellent album.

Great album. I think it’s definitely front loaded for me, but the second half isn’t bad in any sense. Loved the smooth production and overall softer and happier tone.

I tried to be different for so long, but I can no longer deny it. This album is incredible. Everything before fitter happier is perfect and the second half is still great. Electioneering is a clear lowlight for me, but it's still a great song. Wow dude i was not expecting this

It's actually perfect. Everyone in the band is at their best here, and the arrangements show that perfectly. Atmospheres, textures, grooves, melodies, chord progressions, everything is flawless. Easiest 10/10 of my life.

This is an album I've been wanting to relisten to for years, and it didn't disappoint. The songs on here I always liked are still great, and the deeper cuts I forgot about are great too. Some of these songs are the loudest and most intense I've ever heard them. Some deep cuts were a little boring compared to others, but that's my only complaint. Overall a great album from RH.

I've heard this album so many times, it's hard to try and objectively assess how much I actually like the song. Regardless, this album represents a very formative musical chapter in my life. I'm not quite as floored as 14 year old me, but this is still great. I hadn't noticed how the songs transition between each other before, and how they help the album flow. I also think the album is paced beautifully. Some of the glaze this album gets is actually ridiculous though, and ... read more
Listen man, I just love Autechre. Their music makes me feel things and gives my brain dopamine. I can't really describe what the fuck I just listened to but I know that I really like it.

Track 1: Weirdly beautiful. Love that synth backing up the spinning metal ball noises. 8 or 9
Track 2: I dont know whats happening. The drums sound great tho 7 or 8
Track 3: Possibly the weirdest breakbeat I've ever heard. I love the melody hidden underneath it. 8

This is easily my favorite album ever made. Nothing comes close to the emotional impact and visceral sound of Loveless. Every song has a subtle element buried in the mix that makes me love it even more. The reverse guitar in Only Shallow, the bass on I Only Said, the kick drum on sometimes, and the tambourine on soon are some examples that come to mind. The stretch of songs between When You Sleep and Soon is flawless. I don't have a single issue with a single second in that half hour ish ... read more
A phenomenal blend of trip hop, shoegaze, and ambient in a spaced out and unfamiliar package. Super underrated on here

I heard this album for the first time a few weeks after discovering RYM. I remember loving it and calling it one of my favorites, and then I got sucked down the rabbithole even further and kinda forgot about it. Revisiting it, there's no album I've heard that sounds even remotely close to this. The cagey reverb, crackling distortion, wailing vocals, and acrid drums create a vibe and atmosphere that's completely unique. I think some of these songs get repetitive, and when ... read more
I really don't like Neil's vocals. Rachel's vocals aren't as offensive has her counterpart's, but they are by no means anything to write home about. The instrumentals on here are beautiful though. Some of the deepest and most ethereal music I've ever heard. I was just constantly wishing for his vocals to at least sound different or not show up. I'll give it time to grow on me.

Very crazy. I think the pacing is mostly brilliant, this thing does not feel like 100 minutes. The second disc had a few repetitive and boring songs, but overall this thing was very consistently good and has some incredible highs.

This album really makes the strange seem normal. The stupidly loud bass on Pedestal, the rolling low end of Strangers, the tin can snare on Numb, and the basswork on Wandering Star are all things that, by themselves, most people would be bewildered by. But, in the context of these songs, it all works. Overall an absolute masterpiece that wins me over every listen.

The vibes are palpable. This album is such a treat to listen to for me. Every song has its place, nothing really blended together for me. None of the songs got repetitive either. For some reason the more minimal aspect of this album makes it more easy to follow than geogaddi.
