Forgot to log this, but my cousin kept gassing this album up so I finally listened a few weeks ago and it was actually pretty good.
FAV TRACKS: RNP, Lost & Found, Broke As Fuck, Thousand Words & Have Mercy
This reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy.
Fuck I love this album
FAV TRACKS: Yes
This album is good!
This Arcade Fire album is f*cking good!!
Gimme 2 more! Gimme 2 more!!!
Ight so I'm a decent fan of Whitney's first album and I didn't totally know what this was gonna be like considering the singles have been okay. Ran this through once when it dropped then again the next morning. It's still good and there isn't anything I would call "bad" on it, but it's just more of the same from the first album. This isn't totally bad, but I like when artists keep evolving their sounds, even if the new sound isn't good. Like I can still respect an artist for growing ... read more
Finally got around to listening to this after hearing it's one of the best rap mixtapes. It was pretty good, but some parts just felt pretty dated and similar in sound
FAV TRACKS: Palace, Peso, Purple Swag,
the boys are sad
sad this doesn't have many bops and is pretty mellow, but i respect the evolution of bh
also wonder what would've been the sitch if they skipped dropping iridescence and waited til now to drop an album following the whole ameer thing
also shoutout Boy Bye cause that song is just great
not cohesive and everything just slides together, but in a good way. just one big fat vibe. listening to this after midnight would be deadly
smh my head chance you can do better
the singles from last year were literally sooooo much better so I don't get this
also this gives me Late Registration vibes for multiple reasons
also waaay too long and Hot Shower makes me want to rip my ears off
FAV TRACKS: We Go High, Roo, Sun Come Down, Let's Go on the Run
LEAST FAV: Hot Shower
I am a big fan of Joey and FBZ and this album does start off strong, but it ends up fizzling into nothing pretty quickly
Love the cohesiveness, production and synthesizers on this album, but I still feel like Flower Boy is slightly better. This is definitely a very close second though (minus the album cover).
FAV TRACKS: EARFQUAKE, I THINK, RUNNING OUT OF TIME, NEW MAGIC WAND, GONE, GONE/THANK YOU, ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
Appreciated the production & creativity on this one. Also really enjoyed the switch up on GTFU and song as a whole. Only listened to a few of their other songs before this too, but I feel like these guys definitely deserve more attention
first half or so of this mixtape is basically golden hour/breezy summer days in music form
& like cmon who doesn't want an orange BMW E30 after this shit
Yeah it's not as sonically mature compared to Modern Vampires, but I love the youthful, preppy, fun vibes this gives off. Like I enjoy every song on here too. Plus Walcott is one of the best flippin songs ever live
This album took multiple listens to get it but I dig it. Definitely a change from former VW albums, but the new & many styles on this somehow work for me. I know Ezra was into this whole double album thing too, but tbh he could have cut it down a bit in terms of runtime. Also Flower Moon is basically Mario Kart Music.
FAV TRACKS: Hold You Know, Harmony Hall, Bambina, This Life, How Long?, Unbearably White, Sunflower, Married in a Gold Rush, Sympathy, Stranger
Really just felt hollow and boring. Also the lyrics were super simple and repetitive most of the time, but it didn't work like it does with some artists. Idk what else to say, just felt pretty meh
FAV TRACKS: Preoccupied, Nobody, On the Square
Pretty disappointed with this album because Numb Numb Juice slapped so hard. I also get that Q wants to switch stuff up and be different with each album, but the harder songs on this still seem to be what he's best at. Really just a majority of the songs seemed to have lazy hooks and were boring overall
FAV TRACKS: CrasH, Numb Numb Juice, Floating
LEAST FAV: CHopstix
