I didn't think this kind of music could be so atmospheric and immersive. I thought guitar solos or technical riffs, as well as minimal (90s death metal band lack of) production and immersion were mutually exclusive. But transitioning smoothly from one solo into another, this album proves to stay at the top of its game in every front. Not only are the vocals and instrumentals on-fucking-point, but the album feels like a complete, absorbing experience from front to death, and it is so ... read more
EDIT (81-97): This album is one of the most cutthroat, in your face things I've ever heard. It is such a mess, and yet it all makes sense and combines perfectly to create one of the most intense, weird, genre bending experiences I've ever had with music. I'm surprised I didn't return to this more upon release, because wow I love this
This seems like it'd be the perfect thing for this album but i mean... fucking hell
The album is fun as fuck.
Don't think it's fair to expect more from babymetal, but the ideas here are unique, well executed and entertaining
It's not as fun as Number of the Beast, although the attributes that carry over from it make for a record that's still upholding their thus far amazing album run
Major step down from their debut, Iron Man and the closer were by far the best songs. Baffles me how this is the better recieved one of the two
EDIT(76-85): Point still stands tbf
Either I'm bugging or the mix is horrendous in some of the louder cuts
And officially radiohead are the first artist to have more than one 100 rated album
Arctic monkeys sound had really become stagnant over the past few years. From their incredibly energetic and fun debut, the quality of their music dropped with each subsequent album, the energy was lost, and the songwriting was not there to make up for it. With AM they had fully lost it, and in my opinion it was their worst effort yet, switching between very boring, slow songs, and generic radio rock bops. There had to be a change, despite being their most commercially successful record, it was ... read more
Why are the songs put on Spotify the way they are i had to give up on my track ratings
If it's not horribly dated sounding synths, awful lyrics or a random awful queen rip off, it just barely scrapes being mediocre. At least there's enough variety to make this album not a listen I hated
54 years later and it's still one of the best sounding metal records of all time
It's a good and well deserved flex, and celebration of his previous projects. It doesn't reach the ambitious heights of floweboy or igor, but it doesn't need to, this album is fun as hell
Some pop artists are carried by their personality and how they bring it through their music, Olivia Rodrigo as an example. The issue is, I hate Sabrina Carpenter, as a brand, as an image, as all of that, and all of her personality bleeds into her music, and I hate it. The sounds aren't even that bad, I just find her intolerable and thus the music has the same effect on me. If the personality of your music is bad, then your music is bad to me. Also the singles are SIGNIFICANTLY better than ... read more
