There's nothing I'd particularly want to return to on here, but it's a collection of generally pretty good songs, I'd recommend it, especially if you're a fan of modern metalcore
Are you ever in that situation where an album goes on so long it gaslights you into liking it??
Fuck you Frank Ocean for making the start of your album so boring. I will NOT be relistening cos these first six tracks are dogshit. However, man it comes together halfway through, when the energy picks up and you get a slight injection of SOME semblance of energy. And then the ending is beautiful. I might've almost fallen asleep yes, but man it's gorgeous. Not the saddest music i ever heard, obviously, but it's good. It sounded good. I liked it.
Slipknot were slated as a band that relied on vulgarity, noise and shock value to entertain, and while I wholeheartedly disagree with this, it was clear to say how people would think that following self titled and iowa, with heavy as shit riffs, constant blast beats, constant screaming, and bordering on immature overuse of swearing (cmon there's a song called people=shit man). So volume 3 was their attempt to prove to people that they were talented, and weren't relying on these few ... read more
This started off so shit but i started liking it by the end, especially the original songs
Surprisingly good.
Limpdick guitar tone and inconsistent vocals aside, the riffing, solos, and overall energy are immaculate, the album drags a bit after domination, not that the songs decrease in quality, just that the sound is stagnating
This is my exception for modern pop-adjacent metalcore. I can't tell you what it is about it that sets it apart, but I adore the sound of this album, it's so fucking good
Decent showinf from pig destroyer but huge step down from what i've come to expect from them. I staryed falling more into the rhythm of the album in the second half, I found this wasn't nearly as intense as Terrifyer or Prowler in the Yard
I went through a phase (that lasted like a solid 6 months) of listening EXCLUSIVELY to trap metal. This album somehow swam under my radar, probably because it was too mainstream for me, but it's safe to say this is one of, if not the best trap metal (amongst other things) albums of all time. Its concept could be better realised, amongst some other things, but I find it hard to imagine I won't be revisiting this album a LOT
I want SO BADLY to give this a 100, it'll have to make do with a heart instead
