Listening to the AOTY Top 100: The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
Would like to preface by saying this is my first jazz album I've ever listened to, so I wasn't too sure what to expect
This is excellently composed and sounds amazing throughout the whole record, however I found the last 2 tracks to be much more interesting that the first 2. Not really sure how much I like jazz as of yet, but I'll see as I listen to more albums

Listening to the AOTY Top 100: Illmatic
I've already listened to this but apparently I never rated it which is odd. That goes to say I kinda already knew what I was gonna be hearing before this listen
I mean, it's Illmatic, basically the gold standard of Boom Bap and East Coast Hip-Hop. It's similar to Madvillainy where it does it's intended sound perfectly, there's not really much wrong with it, I just personally don't adore even single track. That being said N.Y State of Mind, One TIme 4 ... read more
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: Songs in the Key of Life
Already knew I was gonna love this before i went into it. Even if this is the first time I've heard this album in full, I've already heard a couple songs off of it and I loved all of them. Also this is now officially my longest album ever, almost two hours of music, and there are still longer records to come
Anyways this is a perfect album, bliss in musical form. This is the gold standard of all RnB/Soul albums that will ever be ... read more
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: Lift Your Skinny Fists...
This is my first post-rock album and also the longest album I've ever listened to (although that will change as I go down the 100). My only hope was that this would be engaging throughout the 90 minute runtime and not be sleepy
And it wasn't sleepy, at all, it was actually really high energy. I wasn't a big fan of the slower moments, ESPECIALLY on Static and Like Antennas to Heaven..., but the climaxes of this album had me going crazy. ... read more
Production is excellent, rapping is incredible and the vibes are immaculate. One of my favourite albums ever
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: Wish You Were Here
Well, this is my first Pink Floyd album I've ever heard. I've never been really too familiar with their work, and the only song I've really heard from there is Dogs, which is phenomenal, so I was really excited to dive in
And bro, this had me FLOATING. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pts 1-5 and 6-9) is absolutely unreal. Both songs start with an incredible instrumental buildup before going into the vocal segment, which are probably my favourite ... read more
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: GKMC
Yeah I think this is better than TPAB, how blasphemous, the difference isn't by much though. This album gets the edge by just being more vibeable that TPAB is, it just goes harder and is better suited for more casual listens. Both are one of a kind though
This album has no misses and is really incredible from front to back, one of a kind album when it comes to storytelling accompanied by incredible production. Speaking of production, shoutout to Compton, ... read more
Pretty great, good chance this grows upon future listens
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: Vespertine
Don't have much to say here, production is ethereal, Bjork is a very capable vocalist and it all blends together incredibly, but something doesn't click for me. Never been huge on her vocally but I really don't know why her albums never click that hard for me, they're just good. Doubt I'll be revisiting much unfortunately
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: In Rainbows
Pretty. Really pretty album. I prefer this to Ok Computer but it's close. This whole album just has such an elegant feel, every song feels like a journey. It's a mix of the rock elements of OKC and the electronic elements of Kid A and work together harmoniously. I think the first 6 songs are much better than the last 4 tho, especially Bodysnatchers, that's easily top 3 Radiohead for me.
Best songs are easily 15 Step, Bodysnatchers and Weird Fishes, ... read more

It FINALLY clicked, I actually get the hype for this album. I've thought this record was overrated for a long time and never got all the critical acclaim, but I finally do
Just wanna say that this album is really pretty, if that's the right word to use. Each track has such sparkling production and gives the album an elegant feel. Basically they sound really good

K, so it turns out I never reviewed this, not included in Top 100 series because that's for albums i'm less acquainted with, and believe me I know this album well
As I said in my TPAB review, this is basically just the least bad hiphop album. It's not some conceptual masterpiece, but it's masterfully written, produced, mixed and performed. Every single song on here has stunning Madlib production, and Doom proves himself to be an incredible rapper and presence throughout the record. It's an ... read more
Listening to the AOTY Top 100: TPAB (- soundtracks and live albums lol, not doing those because i dont wanna)
Basically gonna be going through the entire top 100 and reviewing them, except albums I'm already familiar with and have reviewed, like Madvillainy
I mean, it's TPAB, literally the most critically acclaimed album of all time, can't say much more that hasn't already been said, although I will say I thought this was overrated for a bit
However upon relisten I realize that I was a silly ... read more
Easily my least favourite El-P project, not by any means bad though. Production is incredible as usual, but many of these tracks run for way too long without doing much with that length
VERY questionable lyrics but holy shit this song sounds good
Quite solid, but I have to say how much is dislike his voice on this album, his modern voice (none shall pass and beyond) is so much better than how he sounds on this record
Vocal gripes aside, it's aesop rock, you can't really go wrong
