i went into this expecting enormously overrated pop music, and thats basically what i got. beyonce's surprise album is fun and enjoyable, but its shallow and doesnt bring too much new or daring material to the table. some of the production really was amazing, but i dont think beyonce herself contributed a whole ton to this album. she has hoards of writers and producers to back her up, and it feels as if all she really did was sing. even though thats a huge part of the album, it makes the ... read more
terrific label diss, this shit BANGS. although hopsin is a pretty bad artist in general, i really like this track a lot.
i like it as of the initial release. might change with further listens, however i doubt it will change my opinion of this being a solid project. young thug had some much stronger production on this tape, it really complemented his flow. i also thought that thug's song structure worked a lot better for him on ss3 as well, there were less awkward intros and more cutting to the main part of each song.

there is a divide in this album between the great tracks, and the boring, filler tracks. the great tracks really shine and are some brilliant songs; they even bring out the best from the blander moments of this LP. some interludes were boring and could have been cut, but they worked. the production was very dark, dreary, and fit the "swan song" theme of the entire record, which i really thought made the project more focused. im sad to see lil ugly mane go, but this was a solid ... read more
so i honestly havent heard about this band at all until now, theyve been gradually getting more popular, and were recommended to me by a friend. and this was truly a refreshing listen. pwr bttm has the energy and emotion within their music to serve for an eventful listen, with plenty of variation and no big falls in quality. nothing too great stuck out to me, but this LP as a whole really impressed me.
fav tracks: ugly cherries, serving goffman,
m b v is far from another loveless, or even being on that level, but it brings some very enjoyable tracks that are almost worth the over 20 year wait for new material. the vocals are dry where the instrumentals shine, and the vocals are also drowned out below the instrumentals, in the version i have it seems like the mixing was off. had to pay extra attention, but thats my only real complaint. m b v is an album that left me content after i finished it, but i was also yearning for more.

this album portrays a beautiful, childlike fantasy while remaining perfectly realistic at the same time. joanna newsom croons some of the most abstract and cryptic lyrics over her flawless harp playing. the unorthodox nature of this project is enough to make it stick out, but the tremendous amount of work that must have been put into these songs is what makes it a masterpiece. these lyrics are likely the best i have ever heard, and possibly the best of all time. this is one of the few ... read more
an extremely catchy and fun song, but it's shallow, repetitive, and gets old after 5 listens.
lil b has some really introspective lyrics, at times, and some nice beats, also at times. this mixtape has loads of filler in it, but the best songs really shine.

fun and short ep, each track has a great energetic vibe to it, and is another reason why iglooghost is one of the best electronic music producers right now. the fast and youthful beats have some really awesome and obscure vocal samples layered over them, a reoccuring trait of iglooghost. not as good as his first ep, however this ep might be a sampler for the upcoming LP that is supposed to be coming soon. the tracks get to be a little repetitive after a while, but each song retains its own ... read more
i got bored very quickly on this tape. the production was interesting, tyler's lyrics were witty at times, but the speed of the album seemed much too slow, and i didnt think that tylers voice matched the beats all too well. the project is very impressive considering it was wholly self made by tyler when he was 17, but judging it as a piece of music shows the flaws in it. great start to his discography though.

this mixtape goes hard as hell. has some finely crafted beats that just might be some of my favorite hip hop instrumentals of this year. and i was very surprised when i heard some of denzel curry's bars; theyre much better written than i expected, and there were some moments that i thought were really creative and even comical. track 1 is one of the best bangers/club songs of this year so far, and gook is a provocative yet ear grabbing track. one of my favorite mixtapes so far this year, ... read more
the production was stellar, but the vocals failed to bring the same playful yet determined energy found on many of the instrumentals throughout the project.

the dark, dreary, and "pleb" filled pit that is /mu/ told me that this was a good album (one of the best of all time in fact) so i decided to listen to it. and i really wasnt disappointed. it isnt the masterpiece i was told it was, however i take many opinions with a grain of salt, ESPECIALLY those on 4chan. the synthpop aspects of it were so joyful and upbeat that they are hard to not like. the lyrics have some really off-kilter topics and are mixed with the beats perfectly. i ... read more
i havent heard too much good shoegaze in the past few years, but this album gave me some. honestly i couldnt understand the lyrics all too well, considering they were very drawn out and the singer had a russian accent, but i tried and got some of it. the riffs on this LP were spectacular, really aggressive but mellow at the same time. the majority of the album consisted of a buildup in each song and then a euphoric release of what was to be said in the music. a really artistic and ... read more
awesome production, but the vocals dont have enough variation to keep my attention for too long. a beautiful memorial to the producer though, RIP
fav tracks: on my heart, elias
i never want to listen to this album again. it was boring and uninspired and just didnt match up to what was in weezer's previous discography. the intrumentals were repetitive and tedious, and at least three of the hooks consisted of "oh oh oh oooooohhh oh oh" and no real words. nothing was new, and the only song i could go back to is beverly hills, and even that makes me cringe.
