Definently due a relisten, because I do remember this album just not resonating with me much. Also, I'm just not the biggest RNB fan unfortunately. However, this album 100% has a lot of great hits that have been stuck in my head, just not too consistent.
Super overrated... or maybe I just don't like Lil Wayne that much or both. But I really don't understand why this album is so iconic. Sure there are hits, but have you SEEN the ending to this album. Some of the worst songs that have ever graced my earbuds oh my god what are those lyrics.
It's good, but really nothing special about this, which kinda disappointed me after hearing The Minstrel Show and loving it so much. Great performances, but the production just isn't the same, which I guess is fine so maybe I just need to relisten.
Probably the most underrated rap album of all time. I absolutely love soul sample rap and this is probably the best example of it after The College Dropout. Every member of Little Brother brings so much energy into their verses that just reinforces the upbeat energy throughou this album. So many of these beats had me nodding my head into oblivian lmao I swear they put some substances in those instrumentals. And I love how they don't take themselves too seriously on this, wish tracks like ... read more
Every time I hear something off this album, I remember it was made in 2024 and feel shocked every time. This quality is genuinely generational. It feels like an 90's classic, but it's got more modern production. Every single song was made with love and care and attention. Such layered and high quality production, and the SINGING is incredible. Beautiful album, wish I could listen for the first time again for sure.
This thing is a genuine nostalgia farm. Nah but this was one of the first albums I listened to (not sure why lol), but it's stuck with me forever. Literally listening to this is like getting a short of dopamine. So upbeat, so fun, such bouncy instrumentals. I adore Japanese city pop, and this is the album that made me fall in love with it. THE Japanese city pop album actually. Every track is peak.
Surprised by the scores here... I was insanely bored listening to this. It has some absolute BANGERS, but the whole album was NOT like that. Some of the instrumentals were decent, but a lot were just boring... and the album is 22 songs long :sob:
This is summer in an album. If I could start every day with an album, it would be this. I literally smile every time I listen to this lol. I lowkey had a phase where I only listened to this album for like a week, I swear it's addicting. Every time Tatsuro is on, it's like a wave of happiness just hits you because he's just that good. Japanese or whatever man, just keep giving me that.
Definently due a relisten because my ears have definently opened up to edm a lot more. Idk how else to describe the songs on this album besides the word bubbly lol. It's just designed to make you happy with it's energy. Well... except for Everything To Me (WE have cried to this song).
Sorry but this is super overrated. It's great, amazing even, but there's a lot of people who think this is the greatest album of all time... Anyways, it's obviously super ahead of its time production wise and his voice is just so heavenly. This album makes me feel something I can't really say many other albums have: inspired... sounds weird but just trust. This album's got some great messages within its lyrics.
Super fun listen, but bro STOP WITH THE SKITS PLEASEEEEEE. Amazing songs but WHY does there need to be a conversation at the end of every song.
Such a chill album, it kinda reminds me of The Cool by Lupe in the way it feels. Both chill albums with very quality songs throughout that are just fun to sit back and listen to. But about THIS album, it's probably more enjoyable than madvillainy... which is probably a hot take but I will stand by it. Easily his most consistent album, my 2nd favorite of his behind MM FOOD.
Such a fun listen omg. The beats are so wacky and same with the rapping, but it's fun and it works and it's just great. Basically, extremely iconic production that perfecly describes DOOM's music in one album. The production is so good on this that there's multiple instrumentals on this, and they were ALL fire. Oh and the SAMPLING... wow.
This is probably slightly overrated, but not much. Some of DOOM's greatest rapping (which is saying a lot), and top that with one of the greatest producers of all time absolutely cooking, it makes for an amazing album obviously. Unfortunately, I do wish that some songs were just slightly longer at times (ehem ehem Fancy Clown).
Not sure why but I am a big fan of this album cover; fits the album perfectly and it's awesome. ANYWAYS, DOOM raps great on this so no issues there, but where this album loses points is in the length... it kinda feels bloated with some meh tracks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting a bit bored listening to this. But, most tracks are highlights. So basically good album, but the production could've made it a bit less boring.
Very overrated imo. Great first half but the 2nd half kinda just feels boring (until coffee beans). Once again with Travis, consistency is the issue. But even a meh Travis song is pretty decent, so yeah.
I'm pretty surprised by the low ratings. In my opinion, this is Travis' best album, and if not, it's definently my favorite. Easily his most consistent work because this album genuienly has no skips, unlike his others. The length was also nice lol. Having 14 consistently great songs is better than having 5 hits.
Crazy good production and actually consistent. Some extremely songs, but all of them have great energy that's super contagious. Just SLIGHTLY bloated though.
Great album but I just wish it was most consistent. Definently one of the best rap albums of the decade though, probably should've won a Grammy... lol.
This, in my opinion, is just as good as Illmatic and should be equally respected. Some of the smoothest, most laminer flow-sounding rapping I've ever heard. Just gliding on the production. And it's just such high level rap with amazing storytelling that isn't even hard to follow, but very complex at the same time. Some of the best rapping you'll ever hear on this thing.
