His worst album imo. The first half just wasn't good unfortunately but the 2nd half made this at least worth listening to. Carti fr took to mumbling type rapping too far LOL, it's unlistenable at times, and there's no crazy good production to save him this time. 2nd half makes this a 50 though.
Probably the album that deserves a relisten the MOST, because when I rated this the first time I was genuinely a Carti hater LOL. He's grown on me since so yeah. Anyway from what I do recall, this album is pretty great.
This is such a cool way to give 90's type rap a modern twist, and I think its done perfectly. Due a relisten though because wym I only gave it an 8/10 back then??? Anyways former me and current me both agree that this is one of the best albums to chill to.
One of the only if not the only album where I can say that the DELIVERY of the words is the best part. Even though the production is just decent and the lyrics themselves generic, they're delivered with such potency and conviction that it's hard to rate this any lower. It'll be having you doing stink faces to the most normal bars I swear
Wow Dre was really ahead of his time. Not many complaints production wise. However, this was really weak on the lyrics, except for Snoop who absolutely CARRIED a lot of songs. So yeah amazing west coast production, but the performances let it down man...
Individually, I think every song is fine but when you put them together... they all sound the same dawg. I literally stopped adding songs near the end of this album because I was actually getting so bored of the production. Very unfortunate considering how much variety the first Alfredo had. Would give a lower rating but the songs are all great on their own so I'm kinda conflicted.
Very much deserving of a relisten because I think this album is a lot better than what I made it out to be. So not much I can say besides the fact that the songs that I did add back then are all freaking amazing and have the some of the best production ever (Education )
This Freddie Gibbs fella really knows how to work well with producers huh. It feels like The Alchemist and Freddie Gibbs were on the same wavelength while making this because clearly they have great chemisry. For how varied it is, this album is extremely consistent which is something that isn't very common. Oh, and the features are all great.
Seriously one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Genuinely impossible to find a single flaw in this insane tracklist. This probably contains some of my favorite Madlib production along with Freddie's best performances. Genuinely a match made in heaven, and this album is heavenly.
This album has some of the absolute coolest production I've ever heard. Extremely unique and just high quality. So many moments on this just make me levitate lol.
This really exceeded my expectations. It's kinda cool how he dips into so many styles. It really does feel like a continuation to Testing. The features are a bit disappointing at times though I can't lie, but all in all it's a good addition to his stacked discography.
As the name suggests, he changed the style a lot, but in my opinion, not in a good way. He goes from interesting, unique production to trap heavy production (I'm not the biggest trap fan). Lyrically he's probably still on the same level but yeah the production was disappointing. Still some iconic tracks on this though.
This really reminds me of Kanye's shift from the first two college albums to Graduation. Rocky also switches up the style quite drastically while still keeping elements of his older albums. In my opinion, this thing blows everything else he's done out of the water. Every single song is a banger, there are absolutely no skips on this thing. I don't really understand how more people don't view this as his best work.
The production is so amazing but WHY does every song have to be so freaky bro. Production wise a 100, lyrically disappointing with little variety frown âšī¸. I'm able to put lyrics aside though.
Everything about this album is a slight level up from his first. Finally some more variety in the lyrics, and the production is arguably a little better too. Oh yeah, what a stacked feature list too.
This album makes me want to move to Chicago and eat those weird ass pizzas on the edge of Lake Michigan while listening to this. I love upbeat rap and this WILL put a smile on your face. Every song is so full of life, especially with Kanye's production. A common goes off on every single song. Truly an album with zero low points.
So many great performances by so many iconic rappers. Like everything the roots done, the production was ahead of its time. So much to unpack with the storytelling done on these songs that got me emotional at times. This should be considered among the other 90's classics.
Fantastic album. This is everything a conscious rap album needs to be. The production is so good throughout this whole thing and the lyrics leave you thinking even after it ends. Click With No Hands is something else though...
This album means a lot to me. Probably the most heart breaking rap album I've ever listened to. The lyrics are so hard hitting and they don't hold back at all. But variation is important, and Undun definitely has that. Like how is Kool On and The OtherSide on the same album, and it works. Oh and that chorus on lighthouse is amazing and so emotional at the same time. This is probably one of my favorite albums lyrically, and it's made me cry many times (+999 pts). Oh and the ... read more
Really good album but I've never loved this as much as most people. The consistency is crazy tho.
