I usually find that albums/music like this often comes across as pretentious and usually quite annoying. 'Mirror Mirror' does a reasonably good job at standing out from the crowd in a good wa, as it mostly comes across as unique, enjoyable, and creative. Some tracks towards the end especially show just how impressive The Irrepressibles can be, with 'The Tide' and the infamous 'In This Shirt' being really solid songs. The album as a whole though is unfortunately let down by some weak tracks in ... read more
Completely hollow. Took some effort to finish the album too as whilst it starts out relatively decent, it quickly falls into a run of several bland, unengaging tracks that generally do very little. Can't see myself returning
It's nothing notable, but a nice enough listen and I feel it fits both their styles reasonably. It'll probably be forgotten in a couple of weeks
Wildly fun and packed with energy, this album is a blast from the get go. The first half of the album is stellar, with each track a standout in itself but production perhaps a bit questionable and harsh at times. The latter half of the album does fall off a bit, but with how quickly the album progresses it doesn't have to much impact on the overall experience. Really enjoyed this!

A beautifully eclectic combination of sounds that come together to produce a mesmerising album. It somehow manages to sound entirely chaotic, whilst also controlled and managed, which results in an incredibly inspiring album. Absolutely worth a listen and one that I will certainly be returning to.
Quite a conflicting album - on the one hand I think it might be amazing, but on the other I found it all blended into on big amalgamation of noise. It's a really unique listen, and I think it'll need more time and listens before I really understand how I feel about it!
Fun and energetic, but it felt quite repetitive the longer it went on. Think I could enjoy a couple of tracks at a time, but as a whole album it dragged a little.
Beautifully atmospheric, it feels far ahead of its era at times. A big fan of how easy it is to stick this on and completely zone out :)
Really creative, but not as engaging as I hoped it would be. At times it did feel quite dated too, but the ideas explored are intriguing and at times mesmerising. It isn't the perfect album, but it has definitely left me curious enough to want to explore Brian Eno's discography further!
Really enjoyed listening to this, it was interesting throughout and the concepts are intriguing. It does sound quite dated, but as an experience it's pretty enjoyable and worth checking out
Really good, butt found myself losing interest quite often. A little generic perhaps but solid nonetheless
A really pleasant listen with some great songs, just a little lacking as an overall album experience for me personally
It's as good as you'd expect it to be. That should tell you plenty.
Beautifully wild in its experimentation, this album is an experience from beginning to end. The inventiveness and use of sounds throughout is stunning, and the creativity on show is purely brilliant. The addition of an 'ASMR track' slap bang in the middle section of the album is insane, yet wonderful. A great listening experience, albeit probably not one for everyone.
Whilst not really for me, I can appreciate the creativity and the vision in this album. Some of the tracks are really intriguing and enjoyable, especially those which lean heavier on the electronic elements than the more folky tracks. Overall, it's a solid album - I'm just not that into the folk side of it. Check it out!
A really fun look at a 'different' side of Sufjan Stevens, with a far more electronic and almost experimental release. I don't find it to be as refined as some of his other works, but I think that helps play into the sound and experience he is aiming for here, with a wild array of sounds and ideas found throughout. I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I did, but The Age of Adz is a really solid album and certainly worth checking out!
An early contender for album of the year - Parannoul is finally showing that they can fulfill the potential showcased on their previous releases. This album is engaging, almost hypnotic and generally just an impressive showcase of talent - a great album and a really enjoyable listen. I expect it to be near the top of my year end list! :)
Every track here is ok I suppose as a standalone track, but a whole album of incredibly similar, ultra generic indie pop-rock is just not it. I'm amazed this is only 36mins long because it felt like one continuos hour-long song. Not fun.
