There's a lot of pretty middling songs here, but nestled amongst them are a few real gems. An interesting album and a fun listen, but I'm not fully sold on its replayability
Beautifully serene, Cooper creates a gorgeous soundscapes that is as calming as it is mellow and lush.
An impressive album, and one that really puts The Murder Capital on the map for me. There are a tonne of strong elements to be found throughout this album, and it is certainly a strong start to 2023
As someone who's never really got into Radiohead, this is probably the most Thom Yorke has ever captivated me with his music. There is so much here that I enjoyed on first listen, and I'll certainly be returning to it to give it a good few more listens to really appreciate the abstract ideas and concepts throughout.
Whilst I still prefer 'Hyper Romance', this album is a nice continuation of Jadu Heart's discography. It's a real enjoyable listen that showcases their unique style and approach to music. Definitely worth checking out :)
I had no idea this album existed, but despite arriving to it a solid 7 years after its release I still found it to be really enjoyable to listen to. The whole electronic soundscape they produce is solid and at times beautiful, and varied enough to keep you interested throughout. I even got hints of French 79 in a few tracks which piqued my interest too. Overall, a nice listen and worth checking out!
Misleading title - this does not contain any exciting sounds at all.
Saying that, this is a nice little listen that works perfectly as background/ambient music that you don't plan on paying much attention to. I don't think I'd necessarily return to it as an album as it's a bit of an empty listen, but still a nice set of tracks. :)
It seems really good, but the sound got old for me quite quickly. I'll attribute that mostly to my taste more than the quality of the music itself, as this isn't really a genre I find myself enjoying all too often. The deluxe edition of this album is certainly too long for my liking as well. Saying that, Bridges is extremely talented and really showcases that on this album.
Honestly, the biggest flaw here is that it is such a short EP - I want more! All 3 tracks are enjoyable in their own way, with the standout being Stay. Looking forward to more from Little Dragon in the future :D
About as chill as you can get - it's arguably Khruangbin at their best. They have absolutely nailed their sound and the result is pure serenity
A nice little album, solid from front to back and showcases a solid range of sounds and ideas.
A really interesting album to listen to from beginning to end. For what it's worth, I actually had no idea that the Rick & Morty song was from this album, so that was quite the surprise too!
In terms of itself as an album, the concepts were really intriguing and kept my curious throughout - a wide variety of sounds and ideas really helped to engage me in every track. It may not be the most pleasing listen, but as a fan of more experimental sounds it definitely hooked me. :)
Not sure how I feel about this to be completely honest, it sounds like 2 or even 3 different albums all compressed into one. There are some strong individual tracks early in the album, but then some more intriguing and challenging concepts later in the album that are more experimental and certainly less accessible. It may be worth another listen to truly get a feel for it, but I did find it quite a difficult listen at several points throughout. Not that enjoyable, but certainly an intriguing ... read more
Loses some points for some questionable production, but the song as a whole is a banger. I can already imagine Damon losing his shit on stage when the break/drop happens!
