Underscored this originally, after listening to it a good amount over the past few months it's showcased itself as a really enjoyable album to listen to. There are some real gems nestled in this short album :)
Pretty catchy but it does start to drag on towards the end. It's a nice listen, but nothing that incredible.
Starts off decent, but very quickly descends into a lifeless monotony of generic pop/alt-pop. I would say I'm underwhelmed, but in all honesty I wasn't expecting too much to start with anyway so I suppose I'm just whelmed by this album. Her vocals really don't do it for me either.
The bass is gorgeous, the rest is as you'd expect from a Men I Trust track. A really nice listen and makes me curious to see what is next :)
Biig Piig continues to intrigue me as an artist - this recent mixtape release being decent if not brilliant in itself. Whilst I found most tracks to be fairly good albeit a bit generic at times, I found the weird mishmash of sounds a bit confusing as the mixtape progressed. It's as if Biig Piig can't decide quite what they want to be yet, and that might be what I find most interesting about them as an artist. I'll be watching out for more music to see how they progress in the near future!
A beautiful somber reflection on what many of us fear more than anything - death. This album is a haunting portrayal of how it must feel to be in such a devastating position in life, yet Sakamoto includes elements of hope and acceptance in his music here - this won't just be a goodbye. '12' is not as upfront in confronting death as other albums have been in the past, but it's approach to the topic produces an ethereal listen that is as reassuring as it is heartbreaking.
Entirely generic in its sound, but actually pretty enjoyable for the first 5 tracks or so. The second half of the album isn't really worth a listen as the sound becomes incredibly repetitive and stale, but everything up until then is quite fun and catchy, and worth a listen at least.
Nice enough, but entirely forgettable and lacks much at all to make me want to return in the future.
Really generic and pretty uninteresting, I expected so much more from this album and it just felt like a bore to listen to mostly. A couple of tracks are solid, but as a whole it's just a bit meh
Gave this a listen on a recommendation from a friend, and honestly it's pretty solid - albeit a bit directionless and uncertain of itself at a fair few points throughout. It's not really groundbreaking, but its a fun record which showcases some real potential, CVC just need to fully unlock that potential now.
I think this is my favourite Wolf Alice album, it's such an engaging introduction to the band and as their debut album it's really impressive. A really enjoyable album that I'll certainly be returning to in the future
Wonderfully consistent, there isn't really a weak point here and some absolute gems are nestled in this album. Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end.
I can't reference this against the original yet, but I thought the whole album was really enjoyable. Definitely one of the more accessible math rock albums out there too due to its soft sound and catchiness
Probably the most I've struggled to enjoy Diggs' rapping - I actually enjoyed a fair amount of the concepts presented in this album and found his vocals to feel pretty out of place on a fair few tracks. Felt more like a Hamilton-esque musical than a Clipping. album at times.
Definitely enjoyable, but I didn't enjoy the interjecting interludes (especially the last one) and the final 18 minute track just feels unnecessary. Outside of that, there are some really solid moments here, but I'm still not fully sold on some of Diggs' musical choices
Absolutely relentless from beginning to end, and that might be what makes it so brilliant
A couple of nice songs nestled in a bed of uber-generic pop. Underwhelming, Elise can do much better
A fun album where Agar Agar are clearly experimenting with ideas and trying out new sounds. There are some really decent tracks here, but I find the whole thing is quite let down by the poor lyricism and over-reliance on the video-gamey synths
