Some fun instrumentals but otherwise it's whatever. Maybe Milo is just too woke for me.
Tracks like BUSY/SIRENS, LIFE, and CALLIGRAPHY are standouts but unfortunately most of this album just blends into the background. The lo-fi production actually shines at multiple times and is generally well-crafted. The chance feature is forgettable but it's a cool endorsement for Saba. I just feel like this album is mostly background music. Saba has potential though, and I will definitely anticipate any future projects by him.
I'm so conflicted on this album. Tracks like Version of Me and Like They Do On the TV are excellent, but Top of the World makes me cringe and I can't get through it. Human is just alright and I don't really care for it. I wanted to like this album so much more, it just isn't clicking.
Edit: After revisiting this it's a lot stronger than I originally thought. One of the best pop records of this year without a doubt. Still can't stand Top of the World tho
While much less instantaneous when compared to Helplessness Blues, Crack-Up features far superior story telling and adventurous experimentation at times.

This album is boring. There is a serious problem in parts of the hiphop and underground hiphop communities where any rapper that is lyrical or conscious is automatically good and immune to any hate. This album is boring and at points can barely be considered music. Milo definitely has lyrical substance and interesting philosophies and opinions.
