the boys' first classic album, some songs here that feel majorly influential to future music
conceptually all over the place but i can see the groundwork for what “the beatles” will become
this is a good album for the exact opposite reason that future beatles albums are masterpieces; it conforms perfectly to the rock and roll tropes of the time, save the occasional “A Taste of Honey”
come together and something are the best first 2 songs of any album ever (excluding albums with like 4 songs total)
pretty inconsistent but the highs are some of the greatest music ever released
one 0.01 inch sliver worse than Kind of Blue and A Love Supreme, still right there for best jazz album ever

as a Greg Lake and Michael Giles enjoyer, I’m sad to say that I didn’t enjoy King Crimson’s second studio album very much, partially due to how derivative it felt of Court; to the point where literally reusing samples from that album was not the worst crime in that regard.
