The production carries this project, the songwriting and performances are all fairly terrible.
Much like the mountain metaphor that continues through the entirety of this project, there are insanely beautiful peaks and very steep lows. The production is the best part about this, a lot of the rapping verses are terrible, it’s overall bloated, but still has enough substance to really hint at the potential that Quadeca possesses.
I understand how shoegaze works as a genre, but I just found this really grating and was only able to appreciate without much enjoyment.
Some highs on this, but nothing stuck with me and it didn’t showcase enough.
Conceptually beautiful, Nicole has an amazing voice and it compliments the instrumentation well. A lot of missed potential here and there though.
An interesting instrumental experience that felt slightly empty at times.
Heart wrenching and beautiful, the instrumental performances combined with gritty and devastating lyrics make this unforgettable.
Virtually nothing to fault on this, everything stands out in its own way. Just missing a certain something to make all the tracks stand out in their own unique way.
A cute and unique singer-songwriter experience that doesn’t offer anything remarkably outstanding.
An ethereal, gorgeous experience that seems to soften the edges of the world and shine beauty on an outlook.
The benchmark indie/folk album that may never be topped. Any problem that I think I have with it turns into a quirk that makes the album what it is; 10/10.
Glimpse of us, Yukon and die for you are all amazing, but the majority is either bad or unfinished, and the album as a whole is unfinished.
Incredibly atmospheric and eerie, with gorgeous vocals and thematically intriguing.
An incredible conceptual journey into the mind of a multi-faceted character who is experiencing something all too relatable. Tyler doesn’t miss in terms of production, songwriting, or anything else. I only felt this needed one more special component to make it a 10/10.
