Equal mix of fun pop tracks and dime a dozen ballads

Well put together as a body of music but it feels a lot like a lesser version of her previous album at points

Drake rides trends and rehashes sounds to mixed results yet again

I feel like after the whole debacle with Kendrick, Drake needs to be coming through with some fantastic material to counter and we’re just not getting that, instead we’re fundamentally getting him “running to Atlanta”

Logic just washed Kanye, what a time to be alive

No matter what style he does or who he works with…. Every album is a reminder that only Porter could’ve made it

Corny country music that’s almost parody at points

And that’s kinda fun sometimes tbh

Also the track with Juicy J being a chunky girl anthem was not expected but I’m here for it

The first half of this record is actually pretty good but once you get past lifestyle, we’re hit with a big patch of songs that are either badly mixed, end before they get started, or straight up are unfinished demos.

Remove tracks 9-13 and I’d enjoy this a lot more.

One of the better Ian songs but it still begs the question… Why? His bars are nothing impressive and it’s all delivered in this muttered, super compressed and autotuned voice that, if anything, reminds me of Ken Carson’s vocal mix on A Great Chaos. Cool to see these guys back. The first half feels a bit more pop polished n the second half seems a bit more abstract but I enjoyed both. There were a couple duds towards the midpoint (and AEIUO, while not bad, feels way out of place) but overall it’s a fun synth pop record. Not much more to say. If you’ve enjoyed their other music you’ll enjoy this
