I’ve been on a big ambient music grind lately and I stumbled upon C418 yet again. One of my favorite artists growing up. And I like to compare this album and Vol. I because they are such different experiences. Vol. 1 gives you a nostalgic, peaceful travel through meticulously crafted songs that make you feel happiness again. Volume Beta takes that all to a whole other level. I get something so other worldly from this album. The songs are crafted so well you would have a hard time ... read more
Finally decided to jump into this album after months and months of putting it off, and man am I happy I did listen. This shit was straight up magical. Kanye's pen game and his beats and production were honestly at an all time peak. It really is comparable to TPAB in a sense. I got those vibes throughout the whole project. How do I start this review off. I mean 5 years in the making is crazy to think about. Travis definitely pulled some good stunts in this album. It's a fantastic blend of all of Trav's records, but it also shows a fantastic new side to Travis. The production was great and the Beats and features were well done as well. Overall, I can only see it growing on me over time. Was it worth the 5 year wait? No. But was it worth the hype over summer? Yes. I'm overall saying that this was very good. 9/10
To all the people that say this is bad, I couldn't disagree more. It's one of my favorite Kanye projects I've listened to. It's not long, and the songs are catchy and pain a picture of Kanye's mental state at the time. It almost made you feel bad for Ye. He still proves that he's amazing in this album. 9/10
If Beethoven heard this album he'd spontaneously combust over how fucking unbelievable and hard this shit is. 9.8/10
(In all Honesty, this was mind blowing)
