I’ve always wanted to listen to more Thundercat with all the amazing jobs he’s done being a feature, but never got around to a full album listen. So when the singles came around for Distracted, I was very excited to have an album to anticipate.
The singles are still incredible, but not the only highlights of the album. It’s thoroughly funky, groovy, and fresh, with his humour sprinkled on top. I have very little complaints here, just all around incredible.

Unfortunately, this just isn’t it for Glass Animals. The unique sound that they once had doesn’t seem to shine here often, only in a few tracks.
Most of this album is pop slop, but there are a few standouts, those of which I do love.
Here’s to hoping the next Glass Animals record is stronger.
My favourites are:
A Tear In Space
Wonderful Nothing
I Can’t Make You Fall In Love Again
Very fun vocals here, and the production is equally as engaging.
I was very happy with all the songs on here.

Loving Arm
Love Underlined
This album is so ridiculously inconsistent
The first four songs are for the most part very soulless pop, but what’s so interesting about this album to me is the switch up that Driving brings. It catches you so off guard with how eerie it is, especially compared to the previous tracks. And then Lately…Lately has to be one of my favourite pop songs.
My favourites are:
Whitsand Bay
Lately
The Light
COMPLETELY changing my review, because my opinion has changed drastically.
90 > 60
This album hit really hard when it was late at night, and my first listen. I tried to make some of the songs stick with me by listening to them more after, but they just didn’t. It’s not horrendous, and a lot of the songs are good, but it overall feels lacking. Especially the finale, I was really disappointed by that.
For some reason I never bothered to check for the deluxe edition on this site, that was silly of me.
I already wrote my thoughts on the base album, so I'll focus exclusively on the deluxe tracks here.
Opium is, in my opinion, the best, or at the very least, top 3 Gorillaz songs. It is beautiful, and full of hope. It's a very personal song for me, and every time I hear it my mood gets improved instantly. I like its dramatic opening, and fast, poetic lyrics. It is the encapsulation ... read more
The Much Much How How and I was the first thing I heard from Cosmo. I learned of it through my brother, and thought I would give it a try. It was the first album I ever reviewed, done whilst listening along, with thoughts written for every single track on paper. Now, I don't remember where that notebook is that I made the review in, and some of the notes were pretty repetitive, so for this review I will write out my thoughts for each track as I listen from the ground up, several months ... read more
This album is terrifying. It was also the second album I ever reviewed, in my notebook.
Made almost entirely of sampled nature noises, it takes on a natural, and daunting theme. It's soothing on a surface level, and for the first few songs, but takes a turn for the unnerving quickly. What starts out as peace through isolation, becomes very lonely. There is only one track with lyrics. Just one. It reminds you of the comfort found in Cosmo's voice, and immediately plunges you back into ... read more
Not even going to explain (i did on my review of the album), this song is just fantastic.
I listened to this album a while ago, before I made my aoty account. I did write a review on paper, and in fact, it was the third album I ever reviewed. I'm really glad it was, because I love this album. I found Lord Huron through my brother, who was obsessed with them in 2025 (still is). I wasn't sure what to expect from it, and I was pleasantly surprised.
This album is gentle, introspective, and fun, with some unexpected novelties.
Looking Back is easily the best track on here, ... read more
Yeah, I understand the hype. The story is truly incredible, and its writing is something exceptional.
The only thing holding it back from a 100 for me is a few songs that I don’t really like.
My favourites are:

King Kunta

Easily one of the best game soundtracks out there, it’s so full of passion, and captures the feeling of the game perfectly.
This soundtrack, and the game as a whole, means a lot to me. I remember when I heard about River Boy’s passing, I listened to the soundtrack while holding my lamb plush nearby, and shed a few tears.
Just kind of an awesome song with really fun production and structure
Such a strong debut EP, seriously every track is interesting and groovy.
My friend just got the 2025 vinyl reissue for me, so there’s definitely no bias there :)
I'm really glad I stuck around to hear more of this album, because at first I wasn't used to the sound, but it quickly grew on me. I actually ended up listening to it twice, back to back, before forming this review, mostly because I wanted to; it's really captivating.
The vocals are something to marvel at, really, and generally speaking, there's not much left to be desired, and not many complaints to be had.
