This review is strictly talking about the B sides, not the remixes.
I will never understand how Kevin can make music so masterful that even the scrapped songs are perfect. It makes the B sides so worth listening, so I’m not complaining, but these would have been perfect on Currents itself.
List Of People (To Try And Forget About) is so relaxing, but also sad. I admire the irony in the name, creating a LIST of people to try and FORGET about is a little funny, but I understand the point ... read more
Dreamland is a sign of Glass Animals’ identity slipping, but it still has some strong hits.
My favourites are:
Helium
Tokyo Drifting
It’s All So Incredibly Loud
Dreamland
While not as good as ZABA, this record still has plenty of hits, and a very consistent quality.
One thing I’ll always be amazed at from How To Be A Human Being is how blunt it can be about its darker subject matter. Take Poplar. St for instance, a song that is very upfront about its theming through the lyrics and tone. It’s not insensitive when it goes to some of those darker places, either.
My favourites are:
Pork Soda
Poplar. St
Youth
Demon Days has some absolute bangers, but also some misses.
It has that bite to it that only exists on Gorillaz’ older albums, and it’s clear they knew what they were doing.
Every song carries a unique identity, and the features are used to their fullest on every track.
Demon Days also has some of the best Gorillaz songs, but the album falls apart a bit at the end, and has some lesser songs mixed in throughout.
My favourites are:
Feel Good Inc (obviously)
November Has Come

This is pretty shameless pop slop, and only a few good tracks save it from a sub 50 score for me. Saint Motel really lost their identity here; certainly a rough spot for the band
My favourites are:
Van Horn
Save Me
Saint Motel is very interesting to me. They started off with some of the best indie rock I’ve ever heard in Forplay, and overtime were reduced to generic pop slop, with only a few singles being good, out of a sea of garbage. With Symphony In The Sky, it was clear they were still on pop, but they were experimenting and clearly trying to find a new direction with the more orchestral sounds. It wasn’t a great album, but it did great things for them, as they stuck with that sound, and ... read more
It has some tracks that aren’t as entertaining as others, but for the most part it’s really fun.
I can see why this is the highest user rated album of 2025.
The best part of this album, to me, is the production, which unfortunately is lacking in a few tracks. The highlight of the production (and of the album in general) is Chains & Whips.
My favourites are:
Chains & Whips
All Things Considered

It’s definitely worse than the original, but not as bad as I expected it to be
Definitely the most underrated album of 2025.
My favourites are:
So Cold
Backseat
Politix
Whilst a bit front heavy in my opinion, all the songs sound nice in their own right.
My favourites are:
Untitled (raindrops)
Steady Grace
It’s a far cry from his best, but Deadbeat holds so much personal connection for me.
I do think it’s over hated, and most tracks are bangers. Obviously, the biggest problem is that it’s more of a mixtape than anything else.
I thoroughly enjoy all the songs, with zero exceptions.
Saint Motel really peaked with their debut…
This EP stays very relevant today with how political it is. It’s kind of amazing, in a scary way.
This production is just unmatched. I’ve never seen anything like this song before, and it makes me upset it isn’t on Spotify.
The first 5 ish minutes is great on its own, but then the next 5 is Andre having a mental breakdown as some intense (but not grating) instrumental kicks off and matches the tone just right. The vocals were also apparently all done in one take, which is needlessly impressive, considering how progressive and real they sound. Then after the mental breakdown ... read more
Not much I can say about this album that hasn’t already been said. It’s funky, relatable, coherent, and slightly daunting. Every song is a banger in its own right.
My favourites are:
World In My Eyes
Enjoy The Silence
Policy Of Truth
The Slow Rush is a properly structured, coherent listening experience from start to finish.
Obviously some of these tracks are more of a popularity hit than others, but most of them are incredibly high quality, with few exceptions.
One More Hour is a song I want to talk about specifically; It’s one of the best finale tracks I’ve heard to date. It wraps up the album beautifully, being the successor of One More Year. The lyric ‘I’m with you and I can roll into another ... read more
Lonerism is at the same level of mastery as Currents, but with a much stronger focus on psych.
This album is super coherent with its themes, powerful in its delivery, and has some incredible song/lyric writing.
My favourites are:
Keep On Lying
Elephant
Sun’s Coming Up
Innerspeaker has a charm to it, but sometimes it feels a bit messy or incoherent.
These tracks don’t hold nearly the same amount of emotional connection I have with the rest of the albums on the Tame Impala project, but I come back to them every once in a while.
My favourites are:
Alter Ego
Solitude is Bliss
The Bold Arrow Of Time
I had to think about this review for a while, and really let my thoughts stew, but I did thoroughly enjoy this album.
The vocals are something to marvel at, and the production is properly psychedelic.
The lyrics are very well written, and easy to relate to, while still feeling creative.
There are some absolutely fantastic choruses here, and the verses maintain that quality for the most part.
The only real issue I have with this record is that sometimes the tracks over stay their welcome, ... read more
