Anyone who's been following emo lately or loves experimental rock needs to check out Stomach Book.
Also known as Jibral, they channel depression, self-hatred and anxiety into a lo-fi goodness of an album w plenty of carnival moments that would prob make you feel at least uneasy. It also is a spectacular showcase of talent.
You def should give this thing a try.
It's amazing how Portishead keeps their sonic identity the same. Even with this p angular left turn from trip hop to krautrock 60s candy apple experimental rock, they're still as adept as ever. And I like this far better than Dummy.
I can def see why this album is so popular, and beloved but personally... it runs a bit thin for me. "Strangers" and "Mysterons" tho are amazing.
I have no experience w the last two Kill the Noises, but I feel this one is good enough at what it does (but that ending tho).
WOOOOOO MALNEEZY
MALNEEZY DEEZ NUTS
MALENZY
So like uh... I'm listening to the album.
Sorry I just got wind this is actually an EP so this is a long ass EP. Wtf.
Pacing is not so bad. Keeping in mind my fuxkin dog helped wake me up at 4 in the morning, and also girls you know?
THIS FUCKING SONG IS LONG WTF

Three years after the release of Low's most career-redefining album "Double Negative" (which sports their best cover), we get their third outing w BJ Burton.
"HEY WHAT".
Ofc, I could drone on and on like everyone else whenever some exciting and anticipated album drops on AOTY. Cause that always happens. And it's filled with numerous paragraphs. So I'll instead talk about my experience leading up to this.
When "Days Like These" hit as a single, I was unsure of ... read more
The thing about feminism I feel is that today, internet activism has warped the meaning of it from demanding equality of women to pan-womenism. And I don't rly agree w the radical side of it either. Women have no doubt suffered so much under a male-led society for so long, and that continues to be the case today in some areas.
Lauren Mayberry gives no fucks here. If anything, this is a very feminist record. Feminist in the sense that a lot of the lyrics are predominantly pertaining to her ... read more
I wish I got into this album sooner, Panda Rosa never fails to make a good album (at least until we get to pre-Orca albums)
Even tho Fantano's opinion on shoegaze is shaky, he was right about this being mostly drivel. "Mombasa" was great tho
13/09/21: I am into an argument bc someone had this in their topster and I said that it doesn't deserve to be on anyone's topster. I was wrong. I have my opinions on music but I usually try to stick to the principle that you can have anything you want as you want, bc it's your music taste. Same with topsters.
My opinion is that this album is solid musically, but the concept of it being about the human condition fails as it instead goes into generic themes of love, rebellion, inner battles. ... read more
I forgot I was supposed to leave a review. So let's talk about the music.
It's p ok vaporwave tho there are moments where it shines
I don't know what I would want to say to Matt now. I think he'd express little (but there) surprise at me coming out as trans. And maybe he'd like the new music I've been making. After all, he was the first musician peer who believed in me. But we're not close anymore, and I'm p sure he hasn't heard my new sort of music.
I remember shortly after the release of YTSBYBW, I asked him about a debut album or smth. Or the next project. And this was around when he had 116 monthly listeners or so, and ... read more
